Re: Save the dates/Invitations pricing?

  • That's high even for them to be sent priority?
  • I looked at some other places but at times was more expensive and others cheaper. I'm not sure. I'm doing DIY for the decorations already for the wedding, I have an idea of what I would do if I did my own invites, but I really don't know if I'm up for EVERYTHING being DIY.
  • I ordered STD from Vistaprint...100 postcards=free with $7 shipping. Got 90 invites from michaels in kits that include invitation, rsvp and an insert for $100. Got 100 thank you cards for $12 from Michaels when they were on sale for $1/pck of 8

  • I think that sounds incredibly reasonable. I worked in stationery and our custom invitation sets were priced higher than that, for the most part. It's really up to you how much you want to spend. Invitations can cost a fortune if you're wanting to spend the money on really high quality stuff. Ours were $50 per invite, so there is definitely a range.

Also, it's hard to know if that's a good deal or not when I don't know the paper/printing quality. If it's all flat digital printing, that seems like a pretty good price. The paper probably is a decent cardstock, if I were to judge based on the price.

What's most important is that you like the invites. I'd ask for a sample of papers if not an entire mock up before you order, just in case.

    Hope that helps :)

Have you tried looking at Etsy? I got 50 invites, envelopes, RSVPs, reception cards, and return address labels for $37 plus shipping. I would recommend our seller but she isn't taking any new orders until May

I like this look but it's pricey. Does anyone think some of this is DIY doable?

I thought of plain brown cardstock, yellow or turquoise printed carstock on top with printed info, cream ribbon alternate color not used for buttons. I just don't know what all should be included in a wedding invite. Obviously the invite with the vip info on it, an rsvp card, map/directions, but anything else? And where could I find nice envelopes to coordinate?

Our colors are a canary yellow, a darker turquoise-ish depending on what I can get at the bridal store, a medium brown, and cream. It's a country chic but laid back wedding.
