Wedding Invitations & Paper

Cute or dorky wording?

I'm marrying a man with three wonderful children.  In fact, all 4 of them proposed to me!  Instead of asking, "Will you marry me?" he said, "Will you join our family?"

My fiance and I will be the ones paying for the wedding.

Is it too dorky to word the invitation something like, "Killian, Nolan, and Arden request your presence at the marriage of their Father, Peter S. to Raychel R.

It's a funky slant on the traditional "marriage of their daughter" wording.

Thoughts?

Re: Cute or dorky wording?

  • I didn't ask about etiquette or appropriateness, ladies.  And I'm sort of sorry that I asked at all.  Luckily, I forgot about this post and only came back to these boards today (weeks after the invitations went out).  I've received only good responses to the wording.  Several people have specifically commented in person or on the reply cards.  I feel badly for those who would even suggest that friends and/or loved ones would give the "side-eye" over something like this.  I suppose your experiences with friends and family throughout your lives haven't been as positive, loving, and supportive as mine have been.
