Wedding Invitations & Paper

MORE wording help, lol.

I need some help wording my invitations. Our ceremony will be quick and informal ceremony with a reception immediately following in the same location. I'm not a huge fan of "request pleasure of your company". It seems like they should be a bit less formal to match the feel of the wedding. I would like to say something like "join us in sharing our celebration" but I can't get it worded just right.

Re: MORE wording help, lol.

  • Please join in the celebration as
    Bride Full Name
    and
    Groom Full Name
    are married
    Saturday, day of month
    year spelled out
    hour o'clock
    Venue Name
    Address
    City, State

    Reception immediately following
  • Well, if this is at night, and you are wearing a traditional bridal gown with train, and your FI will wear a tux, etc. - then you ARE having a formal wedding and formal reception.  And you are pretty much stuck with formal invitations with formal wording.

If, however, if you are like my friend Connie, and you are getting married in a white T-shirt and white shorts after the hot air balloon delivers you and your FI to the field by the barn in which you are getting married in the afternoon and having a BBQ-style hoedown, then you should NOT use formal invitations and wording - and something like Leisle suggested would work just fine.
  • Thanks, Leisel, that is just about perfect.
