Wedding Invitations & Paper

Is this OK? 2 questions...

1.  I know we shouldn't put "Reception to Follow" on the invitation unless the reception is at the same location as the ceremony.  But, is it OK to put "Reception to follow at (name of venue)" then put the address/directions on an additional insert?

2.  On that additional insert we're putting in the invitation, I'm putting the map, address, directions to the reception on one side (directions from the ceremony site to reception site), then accomodations on the other side.  Is it OK to list where were registered?  I'll also be putting our wedding website at the bottom as well.

Thank you!

    1) no, use a seperate card.  Crammming everything into a small place look messy

    2) NEVER mention gifs on a wedding invitation.  People wll know to ask or check with those who do
  • Here's a picture of our invitation.  The "reception to follow at venue" fits pretty nicely.  But, if it shouldn't be there...it shouldn't be there.  What do you think?

</div><div>Just put that on the insert. It doesn't have to take up a lot of space on that since you have other info to fit in - but if the reception is at a separate location, it really should not be on the invite. </div><div>
    </div><div>Reception</div><div>Time</div><div>Venue Name</div><div>Address</div><div>
    </div><div>That's all you need. </div><div>
    </div><div>
</div><div>Don't mention your registry at all (not even: for more information and for our registry, visit...) But listing your website is fine. </div><div>

As PPs have said, do not list registry. People will either Google it, or it can be spread word of mouth. If a store gave you any cards, throw them out. My guests either found my registry (we did BBB and Target) by searching online or asking my mom. Others gave us cash or checks.

    One insert for reception.

One insert for directions. A map is really not necessary if you provide turn-by-turn directions. Maps can be difficult to follow since many streets are simply removed to make the image clearer -- it can be confusing to people since they won't know how many intersections to cross over. They are rarely drawn to scale, so often aren't very helpful in the end.

One insert for Accommodation information. Alternately, you can include this information on the back of the direction card if you don't do a map.

    *****

    Reception to follow ceremony
    Venue Name
    Address
    City, State

    *****

    Directions to [Reception Venue]
    Address | City, State

[Turn-by-turn directions listed here; may be helpful to list distances and or time travelled]

    *****

    Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved at

    Hotel Name
    Address | City, State Zip

Rooms are held under the Name-Name Wedding.
Please reserve your room(s) by [deadline] to ensure reduced rate.
