Wedding Invitations & Paper

wording for divorced parents

My parents are hosting, but I would like to include his parents on the invitation:
...to
Paul Theodore
Son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith

But his parents are divorced and she kept his last name? It can't still be Mr. & Mrs. So what should I write?

  • Putting their names on the same line joined with and indicates that they're married.  Separate names indicate that they are not.

And, although she kept his last name, she's not his wife, so she's Ms. Herfirstname, not Mrs. Hisfirstname.

  • Squirrly is right except for the half past.  It would be 'half after'.

  • Crap, I do that all.the.time and correct myself before I hit submit.  Sorry!
