Wedding Invitations & Paper

Movie Premiere/Hollywood Red Carpet Theme invitation wording???

were having a movie premiere/Hollywood red carpet theme. Our invitations are movie tickets with a detachable RSVP portion. Were putting the official wording on the back of the main part. The invite is semi-formal, but the wedding is going to be pretty informal. I need to have the wording emailed to the designer by tomorrow. This is what I have so far......

"The Wedding of Awesome

Starring: Tabitha as the Bride and Joe as the Groom

"The best romantic comedy of the century!" -

One Night Only

----- Name of Venue -----
----- Address of venue ----- "

My friend thinks the first line is too informal for the invitation I have. What if I replaced it with something like "One Night Only!" or a quote like “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams. - Dr. Suess"

I'm lost! Help please!!!!!

    This made me lol.<div>
</div><div>OP, I have to disagree when you say the invites are semiformal.  Nothing about a movie ticket says formal to me.  Are you expecting the guests to dress like they're on the red carpet?  I'm confused, and I bet your guests will be too.  </div><div>
</div><div>As far as constructive criticism, I don't hate this one:</div><div>

  • Thank you for your suggestions. Jena, I chose something similar to what you posted. The invites I chose are pretty formal as far as a ticket... The template is similar to this one.... Only instead of a pic we decided on Mr & Mrs in a fancy font. It's formal to me I guess. The wedding itself isn't going to be very formal. I want everyone to be comfortable, I told them business casual, as a few don't have much money or black tie attire. I'm pretty clueless obviously!!

I'm sorry, but there's NOTHING formal about that at all.

That's like saying "the shirts I chose are pretty formal as far as a bowling shirt."

  • That's where we differ. :) I appreciated your input, but I don't see why that statement is such a big deal. It's formal-ish to me. I've checked that off my list. I have other things to finalize now.... Oh the joys!
  • I'm happy that you're happy.  I don't mean to say ZOMG DON'T DO THAT! by any means, I just find them informal.
