Wedding Invitations & Paper

my semi-over-the-top engagement party invitations

The actual invitation is behind the champagne bottle and is also shaped like a champagne bottle. The two champagne glasses are personalized with hearts and read "celebrate"

Re: my semi-over-the-top engagement party invitations

  • well it's in an envelope obviously!
  • yea those envelopes really throw people off...
  • Nope just dictated it to make sure it was exactly what I wanted :)
  • Yep, definitely over-the top.  But pretty, I guess.   Not sure what I would do with two random champagne glasses.  Actually, I do know, because I just sold off a bunch of my random glassware at a garage sale....The champagne is nice though.

  • I don't care if people actually use the glasses, I would throw them out too. It's supposed to add to the overall look. Everyone thought they were gorgeous and I doubt the first thing that came to their mind was "oh no what am I going t do with those glasses". But thanks for the negative feedback anyway! It's funny, sometimes I will post on these boards just to see how negative people are on here. I post pics of my beautiful invites and the 3 comments I got were people being negative! Funny but also kinda sad

So it sounds like you are negatively affected by the negative feedback (ie, feeling its sad), but that this isn't the first time.  Why do you continue to post then? There are plenty of wedding websites and forums in the world.  If you don't like the honest feedback you get here, you can always go somewhere else.

  • Honest feedback? Lol what, the idiot saying the envelope is a rectangle?

<div>Yeah, same here.  I mean, they're great, and you obviously put a lot of time into them, but you said yourself that they are over-the-top.  </div><div>
</div><div>And FWIW, I couldn't tell that the rectangle was an envelope either, becuase you said that the thing behind the bottle was the "actual invitation" and all I could see in the photo was a white rectangle.</div>

Name calling isn't allowed on the boards.

And doing so only makes it look like a poor defense mechanism.
  • I'm still back on the part of dictating what you want when someone is throwing you a party.  Poorest form ever.
  • I think they are awesome, I would be excited to get that as an invitation, and would assume it would mean an AWESOME party to follow... people need to chill out

  • Thanks jezpez717! And congrats on your weight loss!! They are awesome and saying "the actual invitation is behind the champagne bottle" was accurate. And I was saying idiot in all seriousness. I didn't think that could be a serious statement unless the person was an idiot. My bad!

So it was only an insult if the person really WAS an idiot?

Take some responsibility for your actions. You were out of line. Period.

And I'm echoing kmmssg on dictating invitations for an event in your honor.
  • People need to relax. I think they look great! Definitely over the top, but like PP said, to me it means a great party is in store!

</div><div>Yup. Welcome to the shark tank. Their feathers get ruffled super easy. And it is kinda funny. </div>
  • It is a little funny. And no banana468, it was only an insult if she wasn't an idiot. If she is, isn't it just a word describing her? I'm sorry, but to say "they look like a rectangle to me" is a bit over the top ridiculous.
  • You don't get it. You were out of line and insulted another poster. It's grounds for me to ban you. Why shouldn't I?
  • So she can say "I think the invitation is dumb" but I can't say she had an idoiotic comment? Lol and I do get it dear, I was being facetious. Oh I just don't know what I will do if I get kicked off thes boards!! Pleeeeease spare me this one time! (
  • Do I look like one of those homely people who blog all day? I'm not and could literally care less if u kiced me off. btw your wedding pic is super cute, I bet it wouldn't take long to get yourself back to looking like that
