Grrr... PNC

I was just in the middle of checking our accounts, paying some bills, etc. on the Nat City site, and they shut it down to transfer it all over to PNC. :(  Now I'm not even sure what went through or what didn't, and it won't be available again until Monday morning.I had this stupid merger - what a PITA!

I feel your pain Erica, I hope you don't get any of their "this bill wasn't paid" memos sent a month later.  That's on our to-do list this weekend, making sure everything went through correctly, closing the old First Niagara account etc.  3 merges in 3 months blows!  And DH's check is dated today so God only knows if that direct deposit went through correctly.

The only thing that does not work is the Online Banking. Your Nat City cards and checks should still work. It sucks to not know what went through and what didn't though! At least it's not like the switch to First Niagara. My BMs ATM card simply stopped working on a Friday afternoon with no warning.

Didn't even think of the paycheck thing.  My check was posted as pending, but wasn't actually posted into my account yet.Blah!!  Definitely need to get on there first thing Monday morning to make sure it's all okay.

All Direct Deposits should be fine. They will automatically update to the new PNC account number. Check on Monday just in case.

I know my card will still work, but I pay a few of our bills through the bill pay feature on the website.  And it shut down as I was trying to do that. That sucks about the First Niagara thing though - we're lucky we didn't open our accounts with one of those branches.

N, we were on vacation when the First Niagara merger happened, I was so worried we'd end up stranded somewhere with our cards not working (we did have a backup CC though).

Molly - my BIL is a manager at one of the Nat City's and will also be working all weekend, Sunday included.  Plus he's been working a ton of late nights in the last few weeks.  I'm sure he'll be thrilled when this is finally over with.

Luckily Mike only had to work last Sat and has to work this Sat, but the sucky part for him is that they aren't allowed to use any vacation days in Nov or Dec since they have to help train the Nat'l City employees that are working at PNC now.

I hate PNC.  Three years ago, I deposited my Christmas Bonus through an ATM machine because all the branches were closed.  Because it was over a certain amount, they held the check for 30 days.  It was a regular payroll check from the same account my paychecks come from but they held it for 30 days.  I was PISSED.

That sucks! What a PITA! I depend on online bill paying, so for it to shut down like that must be so frustrating.I hope this is the last merger for awhile.

Yeah this is definitely a pain! DH and I had separate accounts (its just something we always had, easier for us than combining) and his was National City and I was PNC. We had each other's names on the accounts though but now I have all these PNC cards flying out of everywhere and I am having issues making sure they are the right accounts...and that they are ALL ORANGE. It's screwing me up big time in my brain lol. I knew Green was NC and orange PNC. DH also is having a fit he is scared his account numbers are changing and he has to change over all his automatic withdrawals from his card to the new card. blah. I don't feel like they were prepared for this switch.
