Hello, I'm Amanda and my FI is Matt. We are getting married in Chicago on 12/13/14. We'll have been together 6 years. It's going to be a massive and formal wedding. We're looking at about 400 guests. My colors are pink and emerald green. We're trying to avoid anything Christmas-y but will have some evergreens mixed into our decor. 

I already have a ton done since it's such a popular date and I needed to get vendors secured. I spend most of my time on the luxury board but I wanted to pop over and say hi. Hopefully this board gets more active now that most of us are under the 1 year mark.

Hey ladies, I'm a December 2014 bride, we booked our venue for 12/12/14. Our theme is a wedding and our colors are black and red with accents of silver/crystals.

We haven't nailed down any other vendors since most are closed this week due to the holidays.

We're doing 12/28/14 and have been planning since June!  I'm excited to be getting into more of the meat of the planning now that we're just about a year away.  So far we have our venue (Old South Church in Boston, and found a cute community space in the South End for the reception), our attendants, and...that's about it.

I'm Ginna, my fiance's Blake, and we're getting married on December 5th 2014. The theme is definitely more frozen/frosty than Christmas. I actually am probably the only non-American, since I live in London, and have lived in Britain all my life, as has Blake, though a LOT of my guests are from mainland Europe. I am completely budgetless, and we're having 90 guests, a lot of which are 14 and under, haha.

Hi everyone!  My name is Becky and am getting married 12-13-14!  Anyone else love going to the stores for after christmas sales and picking up things for their wedding?  I got these beautiful silver glitter branches for 70% off!  Now, I just have to figure out what I am going to do with them!  Hopefully this board starts to get a little more busy- seeming how we are closing in on the less then 1 year mark!

My friend and I just went to Hobby Lobby this past weekend and I got my invites for 40% off!!!! I also found a box that we're going to convert into a card box. It was originally a Christmas box, but I'm pretty crafty so I'll make it look great! I also got a mock-up for our centerpieces. I'm hoping to get everything together now and do all the crafty stuff during the summer.

Hey everyone, my name is Annemarie, and my fiancé and I are doing things a bit different. We are going to the courthouse on March 20th because we like the idea of the first day of spring. We are going to go away early December, and have a ring exchange ceremony just the 2 of us where I will wear my dress and have pictures taken. Then in 2015, have a party with everyone to celebrate. Even though I will be officially married in March, I will feel like a bride in December so I thought I would join you girls!

Yay for December 2014 brides! We have set our date for 12/27/14 and I haven't seen any other brides with that date throughout the many wedding website forums! Any brides here? I feel like I don't know what I should be planning at this point and what should wait, I want to do everything now!

Hey y'all! My name is Emma and my fiance's name is Jay. We have known each other since we were five years old and grew up only minutes apart. In high school we were good friends and started dating the beginning of senior year. We got engaged on 11/24/13 after being together for over five years and living togeter a year. We are getting married on 12/27/14. My fiance decided to go to college after I graduated and we wanted to be able to go on a honeymoon, so we wanted to have the wedding over break. Spring or summer is a no go for either of us because he works on a golf course and I work in parks and recreation (super busy time), plus it is too hot for us! We will be getting married in Orange County, NC at Orange Chapel UMC and having the reception at Rigmor House. The colors are blush, navy, and cream. The ceremony will be by candlelight and more traditional and upscale while the reception will be a pig-picckin' and much more laid back. I'm so excited to dive into planning and now that I have my dress (which is perfect), I'm starting to feel like it is real!

We are doing the EXACT SOME THING!  December 27, 2014 so family can come to town and then we can go on our honeymoon while he is on winter break from school. 

 

Let me know what you're doing for rehearsal dinner and honeymoon...those are the 2 stumps I've come across besides a few people complaining it's around the holidays (Oh well!!).

That's interesting you are getting complaints, we are 12/26 and all our responses about the date have been super positive (more so than I expected).  Most of our family/friends who are scattered around the country are happy that they can come home to see family for the holidays and come to our wedding, rather than trying to plan two separate trips.

We are doing our RD on the 23rd, honeymoon leaving 12/27 (arriving the 29th)-1/12.

If you're 12/27, why can't you have your RD on the 26th?

Hi everyone my name is Emily and I am also a December bride. We only got engaged on April 1 but our planning our wedding for December 7. So I only have 8 months to plan everything. I am going down to book my ceremony and reception site this week. I don't really have a theme for the wedding, all I know is it is going to just be low key without any dancing or partying after the reception. I am excited I found this board!! I was wondering is anyone else sending out save the dates since their wedding is around the holidays?

@emz101 we're sending out save the dates in June so it gives guests plenty of time to plan travel arrangements, etc.

@jboneall For a rehearsal we are just doing the WP and family (for those who can make it). With it being the day after Christmas, some people may have plans but it'll be okay if everyone can't make it. (People know how to walk when told).

For the honeymoon, we are going to Cape Canaveral (I think/hope) so it will be kind of warm, but we can drive. Flights around the holidays were too expensive to go anywhere too far. PM if you have any questions.

12/6 here. Got engaged at the beginning of April and by the time the glow subsided a bit and we started planning things, realized 12/13/14 was totally not going to work as everything was already booking up. We are getting married at his grandpas schoolhouse which is beautiful but kind of in the middle of nowhere with a reception of just hanging out and eating afterwards. We got engaged just across the street at his grandparents pond. We have booked the photographer (main reason to change the date) and I have a dress (which is faaaantastic and I got it from this little shop run by two old men), but other than that are still up in the air about a lot. Colors are likely going to be brown and green because it is rustic and laid back and winter without being WINTER. I abhore the color red and being "Christmassy" (it is honestly one of my least favorite holidays) so there will be NO RED at my wedding.

I am with you. My FH and I wanted the bulk of our families to be able to come December 27, 2014 seems to meet his deadline and our huge families schedules of those we had to have. 12/13/14 was joked as the wedding date while we were dating and there were folks asking when we would get married. Though that got tossed due to Army/Navy Game and cadet must be present, probaly for the best.

Sent them out a couple of weeks ago. And while we are discussing price tags- hobby lobby has their wedding stuff on sale (50% off) every couple of weeks (save the dates cost me $10 and invites cost me $25- heck yeah!).

Hi everyone! I'm Cynthia and we will be getting married on 12/12/14. We're having a smaller wedding (2nd marriage for both of us), so that date worked put better for us than 12/13/14. Our venue wanted a minimum of 125 people for a Saturday wedding, and my first wedding was on a Sunday, so Friday it is! We also chose that date because it will be the weekend of our 2 year anniversary. We're doing blue topaz with white and silver! :-)

Hi there! I'm Helen and my FI is Corey. We're getting married on 12/21- the first day of winter! It just happened that everyone was in town AND my brother's college finals week ends 12/20, so there was no way we'd conflict with that either. Funny thing is, my parents and his parents also were married in December, so it'll be a crazy anniversary month for our family as well as 9 birthdays and of course Christmas! Doing a silver/teal/navy snowflake theme. So excited!!

I decided not to do STD's because I wanted to save money and get more pictures printed from our engagement shoot.
