Hello Ladies,
Somehow we have overlooked the offciant! I know we are hitting the 5 month mark and we dont have one yet. Neither of us go to church.  We are not getting  married in a church. Im beginning to freak out a little. This is the only "big" really left. I have no idea where to begin to look or how to ask. I mean do I go up  a church and ask the priest/preacher "Hey i dont know you, dont go to this church....will you marry us?".  I have emailed our ceremony site for suggestions. I just dont know where to begin ;/

You could check on your local board, or google officiants in your area.  Or, talk to your local courthouse and see if there's a justice of the peace available.  

We are using my FI's cousin, who is a pastor, but we are not at all affiliated with his church.  But, my brother and a few of my friends have used friends who have gotten ordained online.  That's another option.

I agree with pp, ask your venue and check your local board. Although, if your local board is anything like mine, you may not get an answer. Lol. Also, if you have someone you are close to that you would like to officiate, you can have them ordained online. I think it's the universal life church. A lot depends on local and state laws too.

Neither of us go to church or even care who marries us, our wedding planner gave us a husband wife couple who are both ordained and will do any ceremony so we are using them (we can chose if we want the male or female to do the ceremony) and they are doing it Lutheran since him and I were both baptised Lutheran. I would just google officiants in your area and see what comes up.

Are you religious? If not you can find a celebrant in your area. That is what we are doing. We are agnostic and didn't feel comfortable associating ourselves with any specific religion. Also, our ceremony is outside so we had to pick an officiant that would be able to marry us outside of a church.

Thanks Ladies Ceremony location says they dont usually give referrals because they dont want to refer someone that wouldnt be a good fit. But she said that an offciant  from last weekend left his card and she will call with his info.  I googled and called another guy. So I guess we arent in that bad of shape!
