unhappy with David bridal

i was really foward to seeing my bridesmaids in their Jade color. It's vibrant, and exactly what I wanted. After browsing and finding that their collection has dwindled to just a handful of dresses I became vey concerned. I contacted David bridal to be advised that they are discountinuing this color from their palette in the middle of wedding season. They have new colors coming out for their fall collection, but none are to my wedding color scheme. I don't know what to do.

Do they have to be from david's bridal? I know Bill Levkoff and Jordan carry numerous dresses with a lot of different colors.

no they don't have to be, but I already had them chosen. Unfortunately, there is nothing I cam do but go back to searching. I'm sure I'll figure it out in due time and take it in stride and enjoy the rest of my planning..

A lot of the time when DB says a color's going to be discontinued, that's just a line they say to get you to buy right away. I know when I was a BM in a former friend's wedding a few years ago, they told her to order our dresses ASAP because the color she wanted was going to be discontinued along with the style- they still have the same dress and color 3 years later lol. Even though I got my dress from there, I'm not making my BMs get theirs from there because the customer service sucks so bad.

I'd look at other options like from Alfred Angelo and Bill Levkoff. I personally like AA bridesmaids dresses better than DB's anyway :-)

I was also unhappy with DB.  They told me the color periwinkle was discontinued.  I was heart broken.  I was soo looking forward to that color. 

I went to a private bridal shop and found my gown, the BM dresses (in periwinkle!) and MOB and Grandmothers dresses. 

There is something better out there for you.

I've actually started searching elsewhere and I found a Bridal boutique a few minutes away from my house that carries Jordan and Mori Lee. I will be setting an appointment real soon to see some styles that have that have caught my eye.

I worked for DB for years and years. They don't claim a color is being DQ'd to get a sale, but they will say a DRESS STYLE is being DQ'd to get a sale.
Colors are infrequently dq'd but if you went in and saw that that color only comes in a handful of dresses now, that means it's definitely a legit discontinue.
I'd check somewhere else and see who else has that color.

Jade is a jewel tone, no? Beautiful color, but isn't in the "top trending" wedding colors of this year and the coming year, so it would make sense they are phasing it out.

I would also say, don't discount one DB just b/c of anothers bad service. It's like any other retail chain.. you can have horrible service one place, and great service elsewhere. When I was a bridal consultant there, people loved me and I was invited to dozens of weddings just b/c of the experience they had. When I got married the first time, I had a great experience there, and my GF that got married a few weeks ago went there too, and we had a freaking BLAST with our consultant.
