Had my first meeting with venue coordinator

It went really well.  They were super accommodating- they literally said yes to almost everything I asked for.  She also had some good ideas.  Here's what's new that we decided on.

1. I was trying to find a way to disguise the bar in the ceremony space.  We're going to use the venue's pipe and draping to cover it.
2. We're going to have an Indian chai served before the ceremony.
3. She agreed to create a table chart for us now instead of later that will also spell out where the food stations and bars will be
4. Turns out a signature cocktail is included.  Who knew?  Good surprise!
5. They're going to make our late night snack (mini lobster rolls with potato chips) in take out boxes so that people can bring it home with them if they want.
6. They were still okay with replacing one pasta dish with an Indian dish and even said they would include rice and naan with it.
7. She totally got our idea of having an open, non-structured wedding.  I don't want to the flow to stop after the ceremony except the first dance and cake cutting, but she had a great idea of when to do the toast.

Now we have to think of a signature cocktail!  On the way home I thought of doing a mai tai- I have a great recipe for it!  I'm not sure they'd be willing to get one of the ingredients though... we'll see!

  • YAY! It feels so good when you see the details actually lining up and people saying YES to the things you wants doesn't it? She said yes for evertthing else, why not the mai tai?! Ask.

I love your shoes by the way, I mean to say something earlier and I remember you mentioning where you purchased them so I took a look at the site. I was hoping they would have some cream, gray and orange like yours but no luck :(

  • Thanks!  I <3 my shoes!  They only have one color per style of shoe Frown

I will definetly ask about the drink!  I wanted to use one of my own recipes (I'm super fussy!) for a drink, which they're fine with, but this drink has a non-alcoholic almond syrup, which most bars won't stock.  That's our favorite drink!  Maybe I'll get another yes *eeek*

  • She has to say yes and worst case, they have to stock it. Would you purchase the almond syrup for them if it's reasonable? I'm guessing it's expensive because everything with almond in it usually is. LOL. Or at least the wedding industry tends to think that it should be more expensive.

  • It's not expensive, but I don't think they'd be allowed to serve something I provide.   Maybe... but MA has very strict food laws... I would buy it!
