Wilton Cake Decorating Class?

Heather mentioned this the other day when talking to Jess (I think!) and it sounded like an awesome idea.  Has anyone else taken the classes at Joanne Fabrics?  I'm trying to convince DH to take the class with me but I don't think it's going to fly.  They have a class in December which is every Tuesday 6-8 in Monroeville.  (They do have other locations!)Anyone else interested?

My mom took the Wilton class years and years ago and she ended up decorating wedding cakes eventually.  I think it's a great idea, she saved a ton of money through the years making all of our birthday cakes instead of buying them!  I'd do it but I'm on the other side of town.  :(

If you're interested, C, I can look to see if somewhere has Saturday classes or something.  I could definitely make those since it wouldn't have to be after work!

I need cake decorating for dummies.  I can't even ice a sheetcake, that's why I always make cupcakes lol.

I think that sounds like fun!  I am TERRIBLE at decorating things...they always look like a child did it, haha.

I could do a Saturday depending on what day/days.  This is a tough time of year, my schedule is filling very quickly!

This would be fun! I have never been to Monroeville though, so I think I would need to find one closer to this side of town. I was at Joann's last week and was looking at some classes, there are a bunch that would be fun! Let me know if you find one on a Saturday

It is a lot of fun and they really teach you a lot!  I highly recommend it!  Like I said it's only 4 weeks and you decorate different things and can take them home and show them off to friends and family.  Good luck finding one to take:-)

I did level one in monroeville! It was pretty fun. I hate wiltons buttercream though, I found it so hard to work with. I have the big kit, and if you ever make it to level 2 I'd love to do it!
