Since we've had a HUGE influx of newbies- how did you meet your FI?

We met on OKCupid :-) FI coincidentally went to a rival high school and in HS I dated a classmate of his. Now that classmate no longer talks to either of us, haha.

Online dating site, don't remember which.. Only a couple of pepople actually know that however, his family would have flipped if they had known that before they met me!

Mutual friends.  A good guy friend of mine is married to a girl who worked with him, we met at a happy hour when both he and the wife of my friend got promoted.   Then he didn't call for 5 months.  I finally asked him to come out with a group of us for a concert at a bar.  We hit it off, exchanged info, he still didn't call.  I finally bit the bullet and emailed him and we went out that night.  Been together ever since.

Eharmony- we always joke that we should be a commercial! I was going to music school and was super tired of dating musicians.  I'm a firm believer that musicians should not date musicians- too many feelings and too much flakiness for one relationship.  My FI had recently moved here and didn't know anybody.

I met mine at a party.  Then we didn't really "meet" again or start talking until we met one day while I was at work.

OkCupid! People still give me weird looks when I say that.... But it worked perfectly for us! We communicated via text messages for about a month and then met in person. We've been inseparable since!

Match.com! Melb, we too joke we should have been one of those commercials, lol. I'm an online student and he is done with school and worked at a place full of men at the time lol so it worked out perfctly for us. I'm surprised to see that many people on here who have also met through online dating sites... it's so popular anymore!

I dated a guy in 8th grade and after the year was over we went to different highschools and never talked again until he found me on Myspace  (<---lol) our senior year of high school. We talked a few times through there and decided to meet up in person. I had just finished watching a movie with my younger sister and we met him afterwards, he was with a group of friends, I remember one of them vividly because he slid down the rail of a flight of stairs and I remember thinking that was so stupid lol. Long story short that one friend requested me on Myspace and we started talking frequently. We met up a few times in the group setting and it wasnt until a few months later where I met up with him alone. Ever since then we've been together Funny thing is neither of us talk to my ex bf/his friend anymore.

Online as well - Plenty of Fish, he got out of a serious relationship & just wanted to meet someone, my friend signed me up as a joke but also so I would meet someone as well - neither of us (FI or myself) joined for anything serious, we talked over text for the first two weeks & then he asked me if we wanted to hang out & it went from there

We met through my 2 litttle sorority sister! She lived with her boyfriend and him in college and when she decided to join the sorority that is when I met him. He was in a technical break up situatuion with his ex gf when we met but she was at a different school. We hung out all of us and that is how it all started. Actually I walked in with a case of Miller Light and FI fell head over heels in love with me.. that is his story Well it is true somewhat!

We went to the same Middle School and knew of eachother but then we became best friends in 9th grade. I of course had a huge crush on him but he was trying to act like he didn't want a relationship. Come the summer going into our junior year we started going out one on one and going on dates and we finally became official our junior year of high school. Now we are coming up on our 6 year anniversary :-)

P.S. everyones stories are so cute. I love that so many people found love online. That's awesome!

We met sophomore year and by junior year we started dating and we're in separable. We always joke we should invite our Marine Bio teacher since that was class we started flirting in.

Awww...I'm loving the stories ! Me and FI met thru his best friend ! The best friend originally asked me out on a double date with FI and a girl he was dating at the time which was me and best friend 1st date but me and FI seemed to have more in common and felt the connection then. FI tried to pursue me but I decline. 2 yrs later FI ran into a mutual friend, they had various confos about ppl they knew, my name came up and FI said after 2 yrs he was still interested !! Mutual friend called me and gave me the spill, said he was liking me still and she felt he was being genuine ! So I asked for his num, I called him and the rest is history !!! PS: The best friend is the Best Man and godfather to our son..how bout that ! Lol

I went to a party with a friend of mine at this guy's house. He was 19 and I was 22. Several years later that same friend started bugging me to spend time with her and invite the guy from the party along. He and I became really good friends, but I still thought of him as that kid throwing parties at his parents house. As we became closer friends, he asked me out on a date. I said no because I didn't to ruin the friendship. Fortunately, he wouldn't take no for an answer. We've been officially a couple for over 4 years and he proposed last November at Disney World. This time I said yes the first time. Lol

I dated a guy in FI's circle of friends and all of us hung out every weekend. A year after we broke up FI and I got together.

Everytime I get asked this question I giggle... We met on MySpace we both had a mutual friend so i decided to send a friend request not thinking anything would come from it next thing you know we started talking through email, then text messages and about a month later we decided to meet for lunch and been together since...

So fun reading everyone's love stories!! Congrats, ladies.

I meet Matt through some mutual friends. We were at a local bar and had been drinking quite heavily (I was a junior in college) and my friends said randomly, "let's call Matt!". They thought we should meet. Well, drunk me said SURE! He came out, we met and it was ridiculous. Needless to say, I didn't really get to know him that well that night and had no clue this would be my future husband.

We continued to see each other with friends for about a year, nothing romantic from my end. Matt had a big crush on me since we first met, and asked me out over and over again. It got to the point where he was using ridiculous excuses (like a "puppy playdate" for our dogs) to try to ask me out. I just wasn't interested. We became friends, and eventually after about 1 year, I agreed to let Matt take me out on a date. I started to realize how much I cared about him and that he was a really great guy.

Once we started dating, we moved fast and knew it was right almost immediately. So excited to marry my Matthew!

High School. My tenth grade year. 2005. I was 15.! Lol. We never had any real conversations, even though we had the same friends. It was always 'Hi, Bye'. Lol. Anyways, we graduated and lost touch. I got on Facebook one day in 2010 and he had sent me a friend request. It was basketball season so we would stay on the phone with each other while watching the games. One day I decided I was tired of watching the games over the phone. So I invited myself to his house to watch one. He made me hotdogs, I bought beer, and we been togtether ever since.

Fi and I Met in middle school, his brother and my cousin dated briefly we were in the same circle. He had a crushed on me, I wasnt into dating anyone at that time. We went to different high schools, graduated, lived our lives etc. We were friends on FB (Facebook) I was going thru some stuff and was iin need of a friend. We chatted for a few months, had lunch a few times, and our friendship flourished and we've been inseparable since.

I met my fiance at work! It took a year for him to finally go out with me because he was worried about what could go wrong with a relationship with a coworker. We still work together, but we are in different departments so it's not that big a deal. We waited until we were engaged to break the news to everyone, but so far it hasn't been a problem.

We met at a fourth of July party. I was on my way to the keg to get more beer for my date, and ran into FI. We had a very short conversation about really random stuff... like tattoos"date"was getting a tattoo while I was going to the keg, military FI is an injured retired army veteran and haircutsI'm a cosmetologist.... Weird. The next day I cut things off with the "date" and immediately began searching for this guy. Little did I know he was searching for me too.. We finally connected on Myspace and set up our first date, which is our "anniversary" on August 1st!
