Change everything?

My FI randomly came out with a new wedding idea (memorial day brunch), and after some thought, it seems we would likely end up saving money if we did that instead of the beach wedding we had originally thought about.  We have NOT sent the deposit for the beach venue yet (supposed to first weekend in march), but am I crazy for suddenly wanting to change almost everything about the wedding? While the groom is staying the same, almost everything else would be different.  Should I stay with the wedding we have planned so far, or throw out the idea and go with Brunch?

  • You're not crazy--you are allowed to change your mind, and luckily there is plenty of time until the wedding. It really comes down to what you think would make you happiest on your wedding day. Have you always dreamed of having a beach wedding? You definitely don't want to make a rash decision that you might regret. I personally would wait another week or so to think over everything, maybe make a list of pros and cons for each. The brunch does sound like it could be really unique and fun!

  • Oh here's the post... weird TK... I think you can totally change your mind- if this works better for you both, then go for it!  I think brunch weddings are soooooo elegant and sophisticated!

  • Do whatever you both feel is more you. Saving money is always attractive but I wouldn't make a quick decision, especially if it's only based on money. Talk it over, weight the pros and cons of each. Good luck deciding!

  • I agree with PP if you wanna change it go ahead and change it. Especially if you don't have deposits down. It's about what you and your FI want and if that a brunch I'd go for it.

  • I would only change your plans if the new idea is what you really want and is not just what you want because it is the less expensive option. If what you really want is a beach wedding, then have a beach wedding.

  • I would only change it if that is what you really want. You wouldn't want to get to the wedding day and think man I really wish we had the beach wedding instead.

  • We both agreed to give it 2 weeks, and see if we still love it, then we will make our decision.
