Anyone using a DOC?

I can't remember if any of you are using a DOC??

I made an appointment to visit with one on Nov 6 my manager at work referred me to another.

For those of you who have hired one, do you have any suggestions on what questions to ask?

We aren't, but I really really really wish we were.  My mom kind of recruited her best friend to be in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly.  Her friend that's always 30 minutes late.  To everything.  So I'm probably going to have to do it myself, at least at the rehearsal and reception.

I am using a DOC I have already met with one. Normally when I meet a vendor I don't really have a lot of questions to ask because normally the first 10 to 15 mins everything get covered. Some things that I asked are

1. How many planners  will be their the day of the wedding?
2. Discuss how long they will be there from start to finish.
3. Ask if they have ever worked at your venue. (It makes me feel a little better if they have because they know what to expect)

I'm not, my venue has a coordinator. I kind of wish I was using one just to take work off my mom and other family members, but it's just not in our budget at all.

Yes, we are. She has been wonderful, really wants to be involved and I just love her to pieces! We lucked out - she is much more than a DOC. I would ask how she is going to make your day easier. Maybe give her some background of your day and see how she'll fit in to help.

A bride whose wedding I shot years ago does wedding planning now. She's doing day of coordinating plus leadup planning help for us for $300, so we said yes... quickly. LOL She's already been a huge help.
