Re: Something you saw at a wedding...

  • At my brother's wedding, all the guys (including male guests) were asked to the dance floor. They were all grouped up and sang "you've lost that lovin' feeling" to the bride. My brother, on his knees, front and center. It was such an impromptu thing that came out soooo cute!

And at my best friend's wedding there was a photo slideshow playing during the father daughter dance of images of my BFF growing up. I loved this idea so much, I not only did it for my brother, but also his wife (as a surprise). They loved it. Looking back at how ballzy a move it was to do something at their wedding, I'm thankful I didn't pi$$ them off!

  • FI's cousin got married last year and their family has a habit of showing up really early for stuff so they made a slide show of pictures of them through the years and had it playing on the screens in the church.

It was a cute personal touch to see them grow as a couple and gave us something to do before the ceremony started.

  • On Four Weddings, during the ceremony, this one couple had the pastor ask them to whisper in each other's ears one promise that they will keep for the rest of their lives. It was cute, and private. I loved it.

    LOVE this!

I have honestly never personally been to a wedding where I saw anything unique. That's why I know mine will shock lots of people :D

Some ideas I have seen that we are incorporating-
    1. Having a canvas print for everyone to sign instead of a guest book
    2. Either spiral seating or three sections of seation so no one can sit on bride or grooms "side"
    3. Not having cake (we're doing pies)
    4. Doing a group photo of atleast our family if not all of our guests in a heart or inital shape

  • Not really. Most wedding we've been to were pretty boring.

  • One of our good friends was having a budget wedding at a church.  instead of having one caterer they did all of the local restaurants that they liked, even fast food and did buffet style.  so there was pizza, chick fil a, jimmy johns, qdoba, a local italian restaurant and a local cajun restaurant. everyone had food that they liked and it was still not incredibly expensive.

  • Not totally unique, but my sister did the anniversary dance instead of a bouquet throw.  It was the first time I had seen that, and LOVED it.   We are doing that.  I'm pretty sure the "winners" again are going to be my grandparents, who were ridiculously cute when they were dancing and we have some amazing pictures of them from that.
