STD and PIP Finally!

Here's our STD! I met a graphic designer on Etsy and she put my vision on paper. :)
The front just says our names, save the date, location, and formal invitation to follow, all in fancy script. This is a proof. I can't find the final version. Our website is a bit bigger and there is a space between "Is Key".

And this, I am especially proud of. I have an affinity for skeleton keys and our theme is, you guessed it...Key To My Heart. It's kind of a forestry theme mix also. This Arkansas graphic will be on the front of all of the welcome bags. Yay!

Re: STD and PIP Finally!

  • LOVE!  I'm not usually a fan of picture STDs, but I love this one!  What kind of bag is the welcome bag?  Paper, plastic?  I bought these brushed nickel bathroom caddys from walmart that we're using for our welcome bags.  I'll fill each one and wrap it in cellophane to make like a gift basket thing.

  • Thank you! The welcome bags are kraft bags. It will be glued onto a matted piece of purple cardstock so it has a frame of color around it. Then purple and lime tissue paper and a skeleton key tag with the guest names on it. I love your idea! That will be very nice, especially if you tie some coordinating ribbon around it. Do you have a lot of them to make? What are you putting in yours? We will have about 100 guests and I'll need to make around 60 bags or so. I'm thinking some bottled water with personalized labels from oriental trading, a fan, mints/gum, a book of matches with Hunter's guitars on it, brownies/cookies, and some salty snacks. I bought all of the purple folders at WalMart during back to school tee hee, and I'll put a welcome packet together with local info, directions, etc etc. Share more ideas with me for what to put in the bags?

Are there any fun, local Arkansas things you can include like if there's a special candy or snack in the bags? I don't plan on making OOT bags since most of our guests are local, but if I were I'd for example include Pearson's Nut Rolls (they're made here in MN), maybe some Mall of America buttons/keychains, Bags of Caribou Coffee- stuff like that.

I have thought about something state or local related, but I'm drawing a blank. Maybe some cookies with a razorback on it or something...hmm..

</div><div>Nothing too complicated... water, some cookies, chips, mints, that's about it.  I'm going to tie the cellophane with an ivory ribbon with a thank you note and directions attached to the ribbon in the same pink paper I'm using for the menus and table numbers.  I already printed them actually!  I'm going to wait to buy things for the welcome bags until later, but I like some of your ideas!  My dad thinks I should go to costco and buy those little bottles of wine and put on in each, but I think that's overkill.

  • Sounds good! Personally, I would never turn down the wine lol, but I see what you're saying. I decided to buy postcards of Eureka Springs with the chapel we are getting married in and the hotel our reception is at. I'll write a personal welcome note on it and include it with the info packet.

  • Are you purchasing skeleton keys for your escort cards? We are doing this and I'm having a hard time locating ones that aren't a million dollars. Just wondering since we're using keys too. :) Love the STD.

    Thank you!

No, I'm not. I'm using them for my wishing tree though. They will be hanging from the tree with crystals. I found some gorgeous ones on Etsy that are about 2.5 inches...maybe 3 inches tall. They will each be a charm on my girls bouquets and the men will have one as a boutinerre with freesia and hypericum berries.

My escort cards will be a large poster type thing with a foam core back that will be held up on an easel. It will say, The Road You Tread To See Us Wed and each guest will be listed alphabetically by their state. Their table number will be listed, as well as the number of miles they traveled to get there. I'm having a destination wedding so everyone of my 100 guests will be traveling.

Search eBay for the skeleton keys. Sometimes they also have them at Hobby Lobby.
