Dog Photo for Save the Dates?

Okay, I have this idea which I think is ADORABLE but FI is on the fence about. We have 2 dogs, a shih tzu and a boston terrier/beagle mix (he's weird-looking lol). I think it'd be super cute if we had our photographer take a photo of them dressed up for our STDs!

I want to put a veil on the shih tzu (my dog) and a bow-tie on the boston terrier (FI's dog) and use their photo as the "dog bride and groom" for the STDs. I think it would be too cute! FI thinks people don't want a photo of our dogs on the fridge and will forget whos wedding it is, he wants our picture.

Ahh, I just think it would be adorable! What do you guys think? Maybe we could have 2 photos on the STDs or it could be a photo of us with the dogs. Or am I just crazy?

Honestly, people don't "want a picture of you." They enjoy getting any STD because they love you and it's your wedding. As a guest, I'd have to say I'd be tickled to get something unique and cute and personal like that as opposed to a "holding hands under a tree showing off the ring" pose that everyone else does too.

What are the dogs' names? You could make it really adorable and have it be like the dogs are issuing the STD

Like the text can read: Shadow and Apple ask that you save the date because their parents are tying the knot!

yeah, I think its super cute too.  Even if you don't do it for the STD you should do it anyway to have as a picture/use it for something else.

I completely agree.

I'd rather get something like a funny picture of your dogs than the typical 'collage' (can't think of another word) of a few engagement pictures comprising the STD.

I think it's cute! Maybe you can take both types of pics when you get them done and maybe once he sees them he'll like it more?

I'm the odd woman out here but I agree with your FI.  I'm also not a fan of dressed up dogs, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I think it would be great to have a photo of both of you with the dogs for your STDs. I did laugh out loud though with the dogs dressed up!  Maybe you could take some photos of this and use them as the table numbers.

I love dogs so I like this idea.  How about a picture of them "holding" toys ... chew toys or what have you, with the date written on the toy ... tugging on a rope that has the date written in the middle of it?  Something like that ... there are tons you can do with dogs!

Thanks guys! The puppers are pretty silly looking, I think it would make for an awesome STD. Maybe we can compromise and have us in the photo too. Ahh I love the idea about the "dogs" inviting the guests. And holding something that would say the date would be aodrable too! Maybe a tug-o-war rope with the date hanging from a sign on the rope?

Here's a photo of the dogs just for fun. Monty is the bogelyn terrier and Co-Jack is the shih tzu (yes, he only has 1 eye. He's a rescue dog and was like that when I adopted him. Poor guy!) Such great dogs - wouldn't they be awesome with a veil and bow tie??! lol
