One of my BM just found out she is pregnant

Hi everyone! I am getting married in the beginning of the month and one of my BM just told me she is pregnant and will be at the end of her 2nd tri/in the beginning of her 3rd tri on my wedding date. Her dress that she got is already a bit tight, and when she brought it in to the alterations place the guy told her that the dress would most likely not be let out enough to fit her. We have looked everywhere for a new dress. Unless he paid A TON of $$ there aren't any really good options. Does anyone have an suggestions?!

Re: One of my BM just found out she is pregnant

  • Where is the dress from and what color?

  • It is in a softer pink...although it was a bit more coral than we would have liked...and we bought it from inweddingdress.com

  • Are there other BMs that she has to match the color to?

My cousin who is a BM will be 7 months pregnant at the time of my wedding and she will be wearing this dress from Alfred Angelo:

They have a ton of different colors including a few soft pinks. Their prices are pretty reasonable, IMO.

You could also try some department stores' maternity sections and see fi they have something similar to your color.

  • I agree with rdr716- my Matron of Honor will be very close to her due date come our wedding, and she was concerned about the dress, but Alfred Angelo has a good selection of maternity dressses in multiple colors starting at $99 - i understand it is kind of pricy, if she's already spent good money on a dress, but when push comes to shove its a really good option. Also, I'm not sure where you purchased your dress, but if you purchased it at alfred angelo all your bridesmaids get a discount of I think $20/$30... just something to look into.
  • Thanks Ladies! I am going to check out what AA has to offer!
  • Another vote for rdr's advice. My bridesmaids are wearing the same dress (but the long version) because one of my bridesmaids will also be 71/2 months pregnant. Luckily when we went shopping originally she already knew she would be pregnant and another bridesmaid was 9 months at the time and could tell her what would/would not be comfortable. She tried that dress on and it was a winner.
  • Going through the same thing with my FI's groomswoman. She is due July 26 and our wedding is May 19. She's getting one of David's Bridal's short maternity style dresses in my color, lapis. She just needs to go try on a dress in store with the 'fake bump' to figure out what size to order. In this case I am really glad that everyone waited to order their dresses. If we'd ordered before she found out I don't know what she would have done.

  • Thanks for all the advice ladies...unfortunately DB didn't have much to offer and neither did AA. We found one that might work, although I am a little worried it might be a tad bit too casual. We will see. Thanks again!!
