The things I do...

To keep myself entertained.

I am a constant crafter. I ALWAYS have to have something to work on. So today, I decided to try working on a headpiece for the wedding based on a DIY blog I saw earlier this week.

I'm really happy with it! All for only $10 worth of supplies!

However... see that big white bandage on my hand? Yeeeeeaaaaaah. I managed to slice open the side of my hand with my super sharp fabric scissors.

    Hi ladies!

Yes, thankfully my hand is ok. I was able to tape it up pretty quickly, so when I unwrapped it this morning, you can barely see the cut (which is almost 2" long!).

So I got the instructions from this blog: http://spotofteadesigns.com/2012/11/02/diy-wedding-hairpiece/ (clicky)

I did modify it slightly -- I didn't worry about perfect circles, so I just cut them all free-form, and I did more of them. I also used an earring for the center piece instead of beads, and I added some sparkle around the outside. I actually still have enough fabric to make at least one more, so I'm thinking of gifting one to a friend of mine who just got engaged. I'm also going to make similar ones in red for the BMs to wear in their hair (I might put some on headbands instead of clips for some variety).

And considering how easy they are, I might actually make these as the boutineers for the men (and a couple as coursages for the mothers). What do you think about that?
