First dance

As driving to work this morning I heard Making Memories by Keith Urban. I've heard this song countless times but it made me tear today thinking about dancing with FI at our wedding. I plan on making him listen to it tonight without mentioning to him what I'm thinking of using it for.

We're using Open Arms by Journey.  We have taken a few dance classes, and that one has a nice waltz beat that is easy to dance to.

FI & I are both huge Jason Mraz fans. I hard 'I Won't Give Up' a while ago & mentioned it to FI who said he had heard it & meant to ask me how I feel about it for our first dance. So, that's our song

We're going to dance off something upbeat...more of a "swing" dance.  We don't want to do the traditional slow dance song.
Our lesson is next month.  Should be fun!

We are going with one probably no one has heard of- Rose of My Heart by Johnny Cash. It's not the best for dancing but it's a sweet song and we love it.

We are doing "Then" by Brad Paisley. We knew it would be this song before we were even engaged. lol

Literally we chose our first dance song before anything else.  We have always liked "Always and Forever", but the night we got engaged, we got in the car to go home, and that was the song that came on the radio.  When my future in laws threw us a surprise engagement party two weeks later, they had balloons out front that said "Always and Forever"- that sealed the deal for us.  I'm having "Always and Forever" engraved on his wedding band.

We haven't decided but I like "whatever it is" by zac brown band. Haven't been able to think of anything else yet.

We chose ours before we even got engaged, ha. It is "I Was Made For You" by Rivers Cuomo (the lead singer/guitarist for Weezer, this is a song from his solo career). It doesn't really sound like a first dance song...kind of melancholy? But we love it and the words mean a lot to us, so that's it.

We are using Peter Frampton's "baby I love your way" because it's "our song" we were on our way to our friend's cabin and the song came on and we sang it to each other then later that day at camp he told me he loved me, which I had planned on telling him the same thing during our walk but he beat me to it.

Ours is going to be "Is This Love" by Bob Marley; it's perfect for us and our beach wedding

Crazy Girl by Eli Young Band. The meaning of this song is that FI affectionately calls me "Crazy hair" beacuse late at night and first thing in the morning, my hair is a mess and he loves it. One day we're in the car together and Crazy Girl comes on and he started singing it replacing the word Girl with Hair...

When I aksed him what song he was thinking of for our dance, without hesitation he said, "Crazy Hair, of course!". That's our song!

We have an offbeat song, but it's short and we love it. "This Will Be Our Year" by The Zombies. 1:58 long, perfect!

"Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison. We both happened to download it within the same week at different times, and didn't realize it -- we had selected it as our song long before we got engaged -- I think maybe when he moved in with me.
