When to engrave wedding bands?

When should we engrave the bands? Before or after the wedding? Is this something others are doing?

(Last time) I did it before the wedding. There really is no major preference. Our Knot checklists say to get it done beforehand, but no one will know that it was or was not done except you and FI

As for me, yes, we are planning on getting ours engraved and we are most likely going to have it done after, perhaps even while we are on hour honeymoon.

My band is not getting engraved.  His band will probably be engraved sometime between December and March, depending on if he loses weight/how fast.

I'm thinking I will have them do it when we buy them since we haven't bought them yet

If we decide to get them engraved we will more than likely do it when we order our bands.

I'm getting FI's engraved as a surprise and I'll get it done right before the wedding so that he won't know about it.

This is what I was going to do, but I've been told the type of ring (tungstun) can't be engraved. :(

I don't know if we're going to do engravings, but it makes sense to do it before so that you have them engraved for wedding pictures!
