What design(s) do we all have in mind for STDs?

I found a few on Pinterest that I really like.

FI and I play banana grams all the time so this was cute. (a version of scrabble, minus the board and you only play off of your tiles.)


Love everything about this one.



I like that this goes with my wish tree idea.




This is one I like because it is cute and fun but I don't think his parents would ever go for this.

I'm thinking this design from Vistaprint for my STDs and Invites clicky

I plan to get a couple LivingSocial or Groupons for VP and go that route for all my paper goods :-)

We're doing a more traditional looking STD.  I don't have a picture  It's three small cards all bound together with a ribbon.  The first card is the STD info, the second is hotel info, and the last is things to do in the area.  My in laws to be wanted all that on the STD...

More than likely and cute postcard that has a photo of us with a calendar with a heart around the date.

We'll most likely be doing magnets with pictures from our e-photo shoot on them.

We will most likely get them from a shop owner on Etsy. They have some really cute ones.

We're going the same route as rdr716; magnets with our e-pictures on it. We will also be including a URL for a website so we can put some other information and such. When were you guys planning on sending yours? I thought maybe this June/July since ours lands mother's day weekend (5/11). What are your thoughts? Sooner or later?

havent come up with a design. FI will be designing them from our e-photos when we do them. I am thinking of sending them out end of summer and our wedding is mothers day weekend also

Have no idea what design we want to use....one of my favorite picture ideas is the one below...probably not the exact same picture but the idea of drawing a scene on the ground with chalk I thought was cute!

SSaltzman: I know, right!  As far as I'm concerned, this was something small to make them happy.  They really wanted us to get married in NY and when we decided to get married in Boston, which is where we both live, they got really upset and said that none of their family would travel the distance from NY to Boston (ummm less than 4 hours by car...).  They decided that if people from their family were going to come, they would need lots of notice about everything.  I guess the STD is to entice them to come?  Who knows...

SSaltzman: Thank you.  My FI has been very good about standing up to them, and thus far, this is the only thing we have totally given in to as far the wedding is concerned.  It seems to be a daily struggle, however... I'm sure his family will come, but his parents just like to throw fits when we don't do what they want.  The STD thing was one of their fits- I really didn't care what was on it, so we said sure.

My parents also went through a something like this with my father's parents, but my father refused to stand up to them.  So I feel like I'm huge steps above my parent's struggles because my FI is so good about dealing with them.

Our photo package includes 25 free STD's, but we are going to get a few extra.  I am planning on sending mine around Christmas, giving 6 months for the few people out of town to get airline tickets- the hotels at the beach arent open until the last week in February so they cant book the rooms until then anyway.

I saw the CUTEST pop-up one on Pinterest where the bride and groom pop up. Think I'm going to try that one.
