Anyone else tired of the Wedding Guest list?

I am!! LOL  Geeeshh!  Our Save the Dates have gone out.....the venue holds 240...our list has 225 people.  We agreed not to add anymore. 
I have had 2 people ask if they can get an invite??  (awkward!)  These people are ex-wives of family members.  The ex's also said they understand if they cannot get one.  I said "thanks for understanding".

I know!  But, I am also afraid of too many "no-shows" and paying for empty seats!  So, do you OVER invite, or have your certain number and hope for the best?

I am too FI keeps adding people he feels like he has to invite... I asked him if they really had to be there and he was said yes... and I thought we were going to have something small and simple... Guess not the number is growing...

We do expect a few "no shows" but we are going to hope for the best. LOL
We are not going to over invite.  What if you over invite and EVERYONE shows up?!?

I am tired of thinking about it! I don't want to over-invite but don't want to hurt feelings. I am nervous to make the final decisions!

LOL!! My FI added a couple of people from his work.  ooook... LOL

Definitely! We're at around 180 without work friends and our ceremony comfortably holds around 150 (reception is 200), so we know we need to whittle it down, but it's hard! We need to figure it out fast too so our STDs can go out, or decide who is getting a STD and who isn't in case we have to cut them. My FI thinks some of his family won't come since it's OOT for his family, but it's only 4 hours and people tend to surprise you with stuff like this. Blech.

Im getting there. My grandma lives oot but has close friends here where I live. Although Ive been knowing these 3 ppl since I can remember I didnt plan to invite them and grandma has said they can come. So my mom says she will pay for them. Until I have a check in my hand for them they are not getting added. Im starting to get nervous about it

I have been going guest list crazy, but we have finalized our list as best as we could last week. We know who we are sending STDs to and have a mini list of people that we will figure out once we get closer. They will most likely end up being invited, but we have to see how our budget is once we nail down all the 'important' expensive stuff. I've hated the guest listing from day one though, because you feel like you are picking your favorite people to invite. Especially since we are on tight budget that is difficult to stick to.

I talked to FMIL about this today.! I'm over it. Its alot of folks that will have about a 3hr ride to our venue, which would normally be a problem, BUT our wedding is on a Friday at 6:30pm. So the thing is we want ppl to still be able to come after work. Since the ppl in the country are FI's distant family, I talked to FMIL. She gave me the lowdown on who would definitely come, and wouldn't. FI lives in the lala land that all 96ppl we're inviting are gonna show. I told the venue that our minimum is 75. Trying to explain to FI that everybody isn't going to come, we're getting married on a Friday. I'm just scared of no-shows. Paying for ppl and them they dnt show.

we have a guest list an its at 98 that includes 13 maybes if they maybe are no shows were perfect if they show were screwed ....

<div>Definitely do not invite more than your venue can hold/you have room for in your budget! It is not an impossibility that you will have 100% attendance (it happens!), and how awkward and uncomfortable would it be to figure out whom to uninvite? Definitely, definitely plan on 100% attendance. </div>

Oh. And we aren't done with our guest list. We had planned for 100 and I'm hoping it ends up under that...the closer it gets the more nervous I get to be in front of all of those people at the ceremony. Ahhh.

I am sick of thinking about it! What's so awkward are my coworkers that keep asking me when is the wedding.. I am saying to myself I didn't tell you I was getting married for a reason. I could never assume that I would be invited to someone's wedding without invitation.

Absolutely! FI & I are sending out our invites in waves. That way as people say no, we can invite the people who we wanted but just didn't quite have room for. But...I'm in the process of sorting through everything and some days I don't even want to open my computer because I know it will be there to haunt me. haha.

Same here. I never wanted anything more than 100 poeple, but we are at almost 300 people invited :(

I'm not looking forward to this when we send out our STDs, which I'm hoping to do next week :-) 

FI's grandma at the last minute wanted us to add a couple people, and at this point we cannot add anyone otherwise we won't have room for the DJ or the caterer lol.

We are at about 190. I'm not adding anyone else. My mom is giving me money for some of these people (about 15) because last minute she decided she wanted them there. That's fine but I wasn't paying for them haha.

I'm so done hearing about our gueslist. FI keeps adding people. I want to be under 100, which we are at the moment, and it better stay that way.

One perk of our venue is that it's huge, so space is not an issue.  Money, on the other hand, may be.  But, we budgeted for about 350, and right now we're sitting around 300, so if we don't add many, we'll still come in slightly under budget.  Plus with it being a holiday weekend, we'll probably lose a few people that way.

Both of us have cousins getting married the month before, so it'll be interesting to see if people come to both, or pick one over the other.
