Local boards

Do you guys ever frequent your local boards? Ours is D-E-A-D. Its been that way ever since the mass exodus. Quite disappointing because when I got married (the first time) we all became pretty close and stayed friends long after the wedding.

I go to my local board but it can be dead at times too. I love this board

My local board is dead... It's frustrating because I'd love other's opinions on local vendors, but hardly anyone is ever on there!

I kind of have 2 local boards (North and South Jersey -- I live in North and a lot of my vendors are here but I'm getting married in South so I visit both). The North Jersey board is way more active than the South Jersey board.

Mine is pretty dead as well. I check in about once a week and I'm lucky if there is anything new. I pretty much just stick to this board.

Mine is dead. There is never anything new on there and it's really not cool. I think a big problem with mine is that technically I live in Western NY, but many people consider it Upstate NY, and some people think it's Central NY.

Mine is our entire state and it is dead. There are a lot of responses when people are looking for photographers, but most of the reviews are from Milwaukee vendors so that donesn't really help...

Mine hardly ever has any new posts, so I mainly just lurk every once in a while to see what there is to be seen. Usually nothing. I like this board because I feel like we're all going through the same thing, at the same time.

I check those boards in addition to the Philly board.  The moderator really tries to get people to talk but it can def be dead at times.

When I first joined TK, my local board was incredibly active! It's kind of died down a little bit, but still somewhat active.

My local board is DEAD!!!!!! always has been since I joined... So I just stick to this board.

This. (We have the same local board.) It sucks when you ask questions about vendors and like one person responds.

My board has the occasional post, but I'm really surprised at how quiet it has been -- crickets!

This is by far my favorite board!

We belong to the same one... And I actually thought TK was having an issue with that board for a while because there were no new posts for a while lately.

Most of the time mine is dead. I don't hardly ever think about going there since there is hardly any activity ever

Mine is dead. It's pretty much a coutry board. But no one from Quebec goes there.

Mine is pretty good actually, especially with vendor recommendations. The only issue I have with it is that the same vendors get recomended over and over again, so those vendors tend to be really busy.  A lot of the brides do come back and give "grades" to each of their vendors though, which is really helpful.

My local board is pretty dead as well. When people do post, there are almost never responses and, it doesn't seem like anyone ever comes back to see if their question was even answered. ETA: Also, the mod on our local board has been married since 2010. It would be nice to have a mod who was currently engaged, or at least pretty recently married.

Mine seemed to die about a month ago. I check it about once a weeks and the only one who posts is some poor girl who lives in the middle of nowhere Indiana looking for vendors. I live close to Indy so I'm not much help

I look at the Boston board (that's where I live) and the CT board (that's where I'm getting married).  The Boston board is dead - but agree with lalans, the CT board is pretty good about vendors, which I've found helpful trying to plan my wedding from 2 hours away and not being able to easily go and meet with a lot of people.  I also agree with lalans that the CT board always recommend the same vendors for florists and photographers - seems a little fishy to me
