Colors help

I have narrowed down my BM dress color to either coral or guava from DB. The guys will be in dark gray (charcoal I think) tuxes with vests that are the same color/fabric as the suit, and ties to match the BM dresses. I really need help figuring out another color for the wedding, for napkins/chair cover/flowers etc. Do you guys think navy would be a good complement? Or any other suggestions? Hoping to make a decision before our floral appt. which is in 2 wks, and design is NOT my specialty.

Re: Colors help

  • Navy can be a real nice complimentary color, but I would expect to see this in a more "conservative" themed wedding. Think Ralph Lauren.

If you were going with something more casual or beachy you could go with a light blue, like Pool Blue from DB.

Since its in May, you can also go with something along the lines of lime as well. This, however, may give it more of a feminine feel.

Wine could be one other option to consider. This is both elegant and it will marry (pun intended) with the grey well.

I know those were lots of directions to go. Good luck!

  • How about Coral, Grey, and Light green? Im not much good either, but im using green and yellow.  You could also just throw in something neutral, like white.
On the webpage theres a wedding colors things that shows you all sorts of cool combinations, i'd check in there!

    CORAL
    Grey
    Purple?
  • Other ideas to go with Coral and Gray:
    - Teal
    - Khaki
    - Burgundy
    - Eggplant (dark purple)
    - Fuschia
    - Gold

(I'm doing coral, peach, black and white for mine.)

    Have fun!

  • Just a thought.....have you tried the David's Bridal "dress your wedding" feature on their website?  The colors won't be exact. since it's on a computer screen, but you can try different combos to get an idea of what you like or don't like.

  • I was thinking of using coral as well! I am having a tough time picking a second color as well.  My wedding and reception will be outside on a plantation in early May.  I thought about navy or a cobalt blue but didn't want the colors to take away from the natural setting.  I really want to use burlap to tie in the outdoors.   Would a blue work or should I opt for a natural color?
