Ever think of eloping

HI Ladies,

Just having one of those days when I'm thinking it would be so much easier if we just eloped.  When I think of the money it blows my mind!  I know when it's all said it done it will be a beautiful wedding and a wonderful reception.  I just wish it didn't have to cost the down payment on a house.

There are definitely times where I think about eloping too. I know that at the end of the day, I'd regret not having my friends and family around if I did elope. I'm not a traditional girl AT ALL, but I've always imagined having the traditional structure of a wedding (ceremony, reception, BMs, GMs etc).

I know the other ladies here have had that feeling too :-)

I'm the same.  I've considered it, especially because we wouldn't have to wait as long.  But then I know I'd regret not having a wedding and reception.

Same. but I know I would regret for sure. Just remember  it is only 1 time Budget and try to stay on that, dont try to make your wedding about everyone else make it about you and your FI. Good luck we are all here for you!!!

Same!!! I would also really regret it so normally when I feel this way I take a mini break from wedding planning. Good luck

I think about it almost every day... I know I'd regret not having ANY wedding.  I'd really like a 40-50 person dinner instead of a full blown 150 person wedding, but this wasn't plausible with my FI's family being so large.

<div>I wanted a small 100 person wedding with mostly close friends and family that I actually know.  Apparently there are a lot of family members I've never even met.  And all of my mom's friends.  (My parents are paying for a big chunk so they get a really big say).  But my friends will be there too, so I can't really complain.</div>

My FI and I are lucky that we are only having a maximum of 60 people at our wedding. Even though we aren't have a large wedding, we still thought about eloping because of how much money this is all going to cost. All we wanted was a laid back wedding that would be completely outside with a tented reception, casual music and buffet style dinner. But that was never really an option. When we tried to this, I could see the looks on my parents' faces. They then tried to convince me against it. They didn't convince me but they did worry my FI and that in turn worried me. If they would all just love what we wanted, this would be no problem. But they are too conservative and traditional and would never understand a laid back wedding concept.

I would love to elope! But my FI nixed that idea right away. He has a HUGE family and our guest list is up to 250  Oh well, I will make the best of it and make it beautiful!
