ugh sucks......I think we're giving up on it cause it's TOO much money/effort/time ....I actually just updated my blog today...it's on there...however we've found a few other smaller finished ones we're gonna try and look @...but we may just get an apt for like a year to save up and make sure we get what we want we really DONT need a house right now so it may be better for us to just rent...we're giving it til like Dec 15th and if we dont find something we love then we're just gonna get an apt...(sorry for the WOT)

Thanks Jess. We had such a fun time!!  DH's family didn't know what a bridal/dollar dance was (they are from upstate NY) so they all looked at my family and friends like we were crazy waving our hankies dancing with me to some strange polka!!  Needless to say, they did not participate in the fun!

Oh Cari I'm so sorry! That really stinks. However, it will save you a ton of time and money and you might find something that better fits you two and there is nothing wrong with renting an apt for the first year or two. You don't want to rush into anything...you sound like you guys have your head on straight about the whole thing though.Good luck!

Cheryl, Where are your pictures? I want to see!I'm frightened of the things that people wear out, and the fact that younger and younger girls are wearing the stuff!

Hi everyone! Sandy, saw your message. I'm so happy I could help! Cheryl, are you interested in a GTG Friday - we planned it while you were away. I'll email you the info if you want.

I've got 2 fifth gradeers that look like high schoolers, and it grosses me out.  They wear the skimpiest things-I can't beleive our principal doesn't send them home.  Kids these days are scary.

Thanks it should be easier since he's off his other house....plus we were talking and he said he's going to be getting busier and busier so he's not going to want to come home and fix the house and that one pretty much needed everything re-done...he said he doesnt care about little things however that was pretty much all the rooms (AND the outside) but the living room and dining room needed re-done, so we prob would have been in so much debt.

Cheryl how can you not get excited about waving hankies around? Haha I love when brides do the fast polka for the BD. I was just at a wedding few weeks back and the people there thought we were crazy waving and screaming.

J - my DH can often act like a 7 year old boy. He knows exactly what buttons to push to tick me off and usually does it when he knows I can't escape him. In the car yesterday he told me it was about time that I started planning out the cooking and laundry around here, that it was about time I started doing fulfilling my wifely roll. I wanted to stop and shove him out of the car. I know he was joking, but still annoying.

Sandy, I just FB mailed you with the link to the slideshow. It is appalling to me what girls wear especially the younger ones and their parents are buying these clothes for them too, which is even more disturbing.

S- yeah, DH's can be a real PITA...also by your fine example of him making you think he was throwing up blood...I would have killed my DH :P

Aww, I can't believe they didn't just join in!  I broke the heal on my tennis shoe doing the polka at my wedding lol (I didn't do it for the bridal dance, thank goodness b/c I probably would have torn the heal completely off doing that).

I love to polka-dad and I will definitely be doing this at my wedding.Cari-I totally agree with your FI-we bought a fixer upper, and it took us 2 years to really get it up to par.  We did a lot in the summer because we were both off, but I'll tell you, when we redid the bathroom in november one year-it almost ended our relationship.  NO LIE.  So you're probobly better off.

I know Becky!!  Hi Shannon and Heather!!  Nice to "see" you.

Cheryl - we didn't get to the bridal dance at the wedding, but they did play 2 polkas. DHs family looked at mine like they were space aliens as they danced at full tilt around the floor.

Houses are soooo much work, even if they're not fixer uppers you still find stuff to make the "your own."  And IMO yards just suck if you don't need them for a dog to play in.

Heather- I LOL'ed at almost breaking up over the bathroom NO LIEnot that is funny just that is how stressful this stuff can become...I'm glad you two made it through :)

Jamie, I think 2 people from DH's side joined in.  They were standing around making faces at us...like what the hell is going on!!  Heather, my family loves to polka especially my dad and when I was little we would polka around the dining room table.  I was thinking about putting a table in the middle of the dance floor, having the dj play our polka and doing the father/daughter dance that way...damn I wish I did - it would have been more special!

CJ - I'm sorry about the house, but things happen for a reason. It must not have been the right house for you two. I'm sure things will work out better next time.

Cheryl-that would have been sooo cute! Jess-I can totally laugh about it now-it seems so dumb, but at the time it wasn't funny! FI is listening to music on NPR and I swear it is a combination of merry-go-round music and some back woods pick up music-i may go insane if he keeps it on!

That's cute and funny about the table Cheryl.  My grandpap taught me to polka when I was little so I knew how to dance at my aunt's wedding, so he was who I danced with at my wedding.Cari, DH is less handy than me (and that's saying a lot), so I'm the one that gets annoyed with him lol.  It really does test your patience when your tub is suddenly caulked to the floor with construction adhesive!
