WR, but not to my wedding

We got an invivation to a wedding yesterday for one of FI's coworkers. FI and the guy have been talking wedding a lot (you'd swear they are girls). They did really nice pocket invitations, but there are so many grammar mistakes it made me cringe! I felt bad joking about it to FI last night because then I started to think about people criticking mine.

So now we have a July wedding to go to, at a golf club, an outdoor ceremony which is going to be BRUTAL! Looks like I need to start dress shoppingLaughing

Re: WR, but not to my wedding

  • Dress shopping to attend a wedding is always fun, make sure it's something you can feel cool in, if that's possible in July :)

As for your coworkers invitiation, don't feel too bad for joking about it with your FI, you obviously weren't be mean . If you noticed the errors, everyone will notice the errors. That just helps you remember to triple check your own invitations before sending them off to the printers Smile

  • Don't feel bad I got a wedding invitation in the mail yesterday where you can tell that they DIYed them because the top paper was glued crooked onto the bottom one. I am all for DIY but I don't want them to look crooked after I do them. The envelope was addressed to me and guest which kind of annoyed me because I always thought that if someone was engaged it went to both their names, not as a guest. I may be wrong about that though.

How are you guys addressing your response card envelopes back to yourself? Just you or FI, or to the future Mr. and Mrs.?

Wedding related. And then NWR is not wedding related.

Spelling/grammar mistakes on invitations are such a big pet peeve of mine. It's really not that hard to spell-check!

I received an invitation to my half-sister's shower & her MOH who sent them out misspelled the NAME of the restaurant they were having the shower TWICE (both times misspelled differently). This is the same half-sister that didn't invite my FI to her wedding.

You are most defintely right. I think that as long as a couple is living together, it should be adressed to both of them, the only exception being if you don't know the SO's name.

Our response card will either be adressed by both our names or the future mr & mrs

  • My mom and I just went to an invitation shop yesterday.  As we were admiring all the beautiful invitations my mom said that she couldn't remember getting a really pretty invitation for years.  LOL I think that's worse than making fun of some spelling errors.

  • LOL! We have a wedding to go to later this year and of course got the STD for FI's cousin's wedding that's the same day as ours. Their STD is definitely one I'd never pick and it's obvious that they spent a ton of money on them, I'm totally guilty of being a judgey mcjudgerson :-P

  • omg spelling is a must and grammar.  i personally if my invites needed to be glued or some such i wouldnt DIY unless u can DIY.  I cant lol i draw like a 5 yro lol .  yes, to answer someone question if you are living together, or engaged the other persons name outta respect needs to addressed.  if you dont want extras at wedding of pple you dont know (guest or  +1) dont add a guest to envelope.
