Has anyone had their wedding to 1am? We are having the ceremony at 5pm, cockitails at 6pm, dinner at 7pm and dance until 1am. My question is, do you all think 1 am is to long? Or is midnight a more reasonable time to end? After talking to a few vendors they were like, 1am wow thats late weddings usullly end at midnight. I dont know if anyone has been to a wedding that late or if guests tend to leave sooner??

    A lot of weddings I have been to ended by midnight or earlier. I am actaully planning for ours to wrap up around 10:30 to 11ish...

    For us, ceremony is at 6 cocktail 630 and reception originally til 1120.  Talked them into letting us having it until 12...  12 seems to be the standard.  Btw I mean all at night

    Most weddings around here end really late. We have our DJ booked until 2:30am. We went to one wedding that we didn't leave until close to 4am

    We have to be out of my venue by 11, so ours won't go that late.

    I don't think it'd be uber necessary to go til 1 am, but of course that depends on your crowd too.

    I went to a wedding this summer that ended up going until 1am. It was a college-aged crowd and most of the families left by 11, but those who stayed were happy to keep partying. I think if you want to keep it until 1, there will be a lot of people who leave early, but those who want to stay can.

    I would say depends on crowd, we went to a wedding late and it ended by 12. After of the people left around 11. Mostly they were older family

    The weddings I've gone to and only a handful ended around 11.

    At our venue we have a noise ordinance that takes place at 11 so it will end then.

    My calculations ceremony 530 -6, cocktail hr 6-7, reception dinner & dancing 7 -11 to me sounds plenty of time.

    We have our venue booked for the whole day, but we plan on ceremony at 530, cocktails at 6, and party till midnight. If you have guests coming that love a good party, then i'm sure you will have no problem. An open bar helps too.lol..

    Our ceremony is at 6, cocktail hour following, dinner at 8 and everything wraps up at 1.

    I have been to both, where they end early and some end late. We are there to have a good time so I think 1 am is going to be fine.
