Majorly judging this invite

Just received an invitation that's really incorrect.

1. The grandmother's are hosting the pre-wedding party (called a sangeet, which happens the day before the wedding).  It says their names at the top and then under the grooms name it has his parents listed, but the brides parents aren't listed at all on that piece of the invite.  I just don't get that part.

2. On the invite, the bride's parent's names are listed as Drs. jane and john doe.  First of all, the guy is a phd, not a medical doctor.  It should have been listed as: Dr jane doe and Mr. john doe.  Even if they were both medical doctors, that's still not how you list it.

3. The groom's parent's names are listed in parenthesis below the groom's name.  Weirdness

4.  The groom's last name isn't listed on any part of the invite.

5. The rsvp card is to the bride's parents.  Here, they don't list themselves as "drs", nor do they put a mr or mrs either.  Just "jane and john doe".

6. The bottom of the invite says "please no boxed gifts"... To me, this is by far the worst part.

Okay, I'm taking of my judgmental pants now.

Oh Wow!!! That is very incorrect... I guess my question would be is it really necessary to have all those freaking names on 1 invite my goodness?!?! Why would put the groom's parents name in parenthesis is very strange and the fact that the grooms last name is no where on the invite is weird... The last thing that really grinds my gears about this is the fact that they had the nerve to mention the word "GIFT" on the invite!!!! Ummm hello can you say rude!!!!

I know right!  And I forgot to mention the best part...

FI's parents received a STD in March.  We were handed one when we saw this family in April.  FI's parents got the invite in the mail.  Then a couple weeks later, the coupled called FI's parents to say that the invite was suppose to be for FI and me too even though our names weren't on it.  Fi's mom suggested they send us a separate invite with our names on it...

Obliviously she doesn't know that you are supposed to invites to everyone you want to invite. If they live in the same household you are supposed to include their name on the envelope or send a separate one. Just keep telling yourself only a few more months to go...

A PhD holder is a "doctor". PhD stands for Doctor of Philosophy and it is widely accepted that individuals in any feild of study who are PhDs are Doctors. It's really up to the PhD holder if they want Dr to be used rather then Mr or Mrs.

My fiance is a PhD candidate in a non-medical feild and I can assure you it is not poor ettiquite for him to use Dr. rather than Mr. after his graduation. PhD holders in medical feilds are Physicians (in addition to Doctors due to their degree level).

<div>Not true.  PhDs are only referred to as "doctor" in academic and professional situations, not social ones.  I have a PhD aunt who would love to only be referred to as "doctor", but it is simply not proper to do so in social situations.  You can look it up in some manner's books.</div>

There will be a few weddings before mine and I'm definitely feeling a sick sense of excitement to critique the invites, lol.

Already got FI's cousin's STD for next May and they sent theirs back in April which to me is excessively early. They even included hotel block info with theirs!

</div><div>That's interesting because my Emily Post weddings book and my Miss Manners weddings books says specifically that only medical doctors are to be addressed as "Dr" on a wedding invite.  I had also checked it out with the etiquette board too, to make sure I was making my address list correctly.  I don't think it hurts to address is either way, but I was annoyed with this particular invite in general.  Also, "Drs" is incorrect.  If both are doctors, then you address it as "Dr. Jane Doe and Dr. John Doe".
