Florist Question...

When are you meeting with your florist? I am meeting with my coordinator on Saturday and we are going to discuss when I want to meet with the florist. I was thinking around May because we can see what flowers are in bloom.

I met with one 2 weeks ago because my DOC thought it would be a good idea but it was so overwhelming. Instead of just throwing around ideas they tried to make concrete plans... I was like, "Wait.. it's too early!" And also it was way too expensive. They gave me three different options: One option was 5,000, the second option wa 4,000 and the third option was 3,000. I said, forget it.... I'm going the wholesale route.

I was going to wait until May to see what kind of flowers were in bloom that I really liked and go from there.

My centerpieces are included in my venue price thanks goodness... I get 12 table arrangements but what is going to kill the budget is bouquets...

We are probably having the best man's Godmother do our flowers. I've e-mailed her a few ideas but we have yet to get together to talk prices and look at the previous arrangement she's done. She did the bouquets and centerpieces at the best man's wedding (he got married in Oct) and they were beautiful. Most florists that I e-mailed said it was really early to talk flowers but that if we wanted to we could. They suggested about 6 months before.

A popular florist in our area books 13+ months in advance, so I'm meeting with them next Thursday. I will probably start there and figure out where to go from there.

I'm getting silk flowers done from an online site, They are all custom made to my specifications, I'm a little worried about not actually getting to hold them until they arrive, but I will be sent tons of pics before she completes the order, so she can change if I want it.

I have most of my fake flowers already, just have to assemble my centerpieces :-) I'll most likely have to order more- but not a big deal at all.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'll have my BMs carry since I'm not a fan of the traditional bouquet.

Im looking to book my florist in May so I'll probably start looking at florists in the area soon and slowly start going to meet them. I think I'm probably on the early side though Im just really excited about getting some ideas.
