Bridal Portraits/Photography

Hello! I was married this past Oct. and these boards were sooo awesome. So, please don't stone me for posting back here again =)

During my wedding planning last year I become highly obsessed with photography so I started taking classes to learn all that I could about wedding photography and so now I really need to practice doing bridal portraits...So, If anyone in the pgh area would be interested please pm and I'll send you my contact info. This is totally free and you keep of your images, like I said, I just need to practice! It's a great chance to see how your wedding attire, makeup, etc... would look on camera for your 'big day.'

  • What gear do you have?

  • Great question! I am fully equipped with a professional grade camera, lenses, lighting, and editing software. Basically everything your photographer will have I also have to get those professional quality pictures. .I just lack experience. I have done a couple professional shoots but nothing wedding related and I'm soo excited to get out there and see what I can do.
  • What body do you have? Lenses?

  • I own a Canon Rebel and I shoot mostly with my 50mm 1.4 & 28-75mm 2.8 and I have a few others but I prefer/love the results with the two listed lenses.
  • Stacey... are you "Bedford" Stacey... and my FB friend Stacey from the October board (LoL)?

I was really considering doing a TTD session when the weather breaks.  If you should need experience with that, let me know!  That is... if my dress still fits... because I've done nothing but eat everything in sight since the wedding. :)

  • Hi Meg!! Yup, that's me, lol. Yes, I would love to do a TTD shoot! I'm gonna send you a fb message!
  • No offense, I'm a professional wedding photog who does 15+ weddings a year and there is no way that you can shoot with a Rebel. Professionals use the D model Canon's and "L" series lenses.  There is a lot to weddig photography. Start small. Look for people on a $500 budget and then save up to upgrade your equipment. We all have to start out somewhere, i started with a Rebel. I'm always looking for someone to help me during weddings. If you are interested in learning more about wedding photography, pointers and/or helping/tagging along at a wedding to learn, shoot me an email :) I love helping new people in the field.
