Those who had their wedding at Hyeholde Restaurant

We are considering it and have been looking for reviews and such. I'm a little nervous because I keep hearing that it is really expensive, but it is usually from people who ate their but didn't have a wedding. The prices they have on their website don't seem very high at all for a wedding (though they do for just dinning their) but I can't seem to find any type of base rental price. 

So is it expensive to have a wedding their? 

Do you think it is worth it? 

Also, do you know if they have any restrictions on decorations and such?

And of course any other info you can give that will be helpful will be appreciated.

I, of course, would just check it out myself, but I promised my fiance at least a weeks rest from calling up and looking at places after finals week. So I figured I could just find out if I should bother getting my hopes up with this place from you ladies. 

Oh and I really don't see us going above $2,000 for a base rental price of site and that is only if we are REALLY impressed.

I looked at Hyehold. My uncle thought it was the best wedding venue he had been to in the Pittsburgh area so we checked it out. 
It is really small.  Really small.  If you are doing it in the summer when the grounds are pretty and only inviting 50 people it would be really nice.  The dining room is downstairs, it has not been updated recently and the room is weirdly shaped.

My dad had his wedding at the Hyehold to which only 50 people attended. I believe he said for those 50 ppl, the total bill was around 5k (they did not have the ceremony there, so it might be more if you're trying to do everything there). However, the people that were there were NOT heavy drinkers (and the Hyehold bar prices are high), there was no dancing (as there wasn't really room), and I agree with the above poster in that it is small. If you're having more than those 50 ppl my dad invited, it would feel really really reallllllllllllllllllllllllly tight. The 50 people felt just comfortable, and the outdoor space was open (if you had it in the winter with those doors closed, it might feel cramped). All that being said, the food was AMAZING.

BUT it just wouldn't work for all types of weddings.

Oh, and aside from centerpieces, my dad and his wife had no decor. I don't know if it wasn't allowed, but I just don't know how you would decorate/where you would put things. Its not really the type of space that you decorate, if that makes sense.

Oh and this was about 4-5 years ago - prices may have gone up. Oh, and don't forget to factor in their cake-cutting fee (they may have a fee for outside cookies, too AND you have to have valet parking when you hit a certain number of ppl so there is that cost, too). But, you were mentioning a "base fee" - most restaurants don't have a base fee to use their venue. Its just the per person cost. If you like the idea of not having the venue rental fee, you should check into other restaurants and/or hotels (hotels are usually just per person as well). There are more than likely cheaper, larger options than the Hyeholde.
