Is anyone writing their own ceremony?

My boss (and friend) is officiating our wedding and she said she could either use something pre written or I could write my own ceremony script. I took the challenge and wrote the script. I read it to FI on Sunday and he asked for a few revisions. At first I was frustrated with the idea of writing the script because I didn't know where to start. But once I got going I really started to love the idea. The ceremony will include exactly what we want and nothing that we do not want.  Now to just figure out what to write for our vows.

Is anyone else writing your own ceremony?

We aren't writing our own ceremony per se, but we are hopefully deciding what goes into ours.  I do not want any readings or poetry or extra songs or anything.  It should be short and sweet.  

When my parents got married she took the "obey" part out of her vows, but I'm not going that far.

I'm not sure if we have that option. I'm hoping my rabbi will provide a script for us to review an edit now that you bring this up. I want short and sweet. We are writing our own vows.

We are writing our own ceremony with help from our celebrant.  Basically we had to answer like a hundred questions about our relationship etc and she's going to write our "love story" as an introduction.  Then we've taken several different pre-written vows and combined them to create our own.  We're doing a traditional "asking" and we wrote our own thing to say for the ring exchange.  After those elements, we're doing 3 Hindu traditions and then the prounouncement, kiss, break a glass (yup I'm Jewish so that's for my family), done.  Our celebrant will take all those elements and write a script and then we can change and revise it.

I think we are going to write our own. FI's brother is going to officiate, something he has never done before, so I want to make sure we give him something to go off of. But I haven't even started working on it yet. I'm kind of nervous about it!! Would you mind sharing yours?

We wrote ours. We wanted to incorporate both religions a bit catholic and Jewish so we had to make up our own :

Our Rabbi asked us to read though a book called the "new Jewish Marriage" (I highly recommend it for anyone having a jewish or partially jewish wedding.  ! I'm about 1/2 way though) and then when we meet with her again we will go through things that we like/want in the ceremony and things that we don't.  She will do whatever she actually says, but we have pretty full control otherwise, which is nice.

FI wants to take the part out where we ask friends and family to support us in our marriage and not work against us. He does not want their "help". LOL He also asked to move the kiss right to the end before the "now i pronounce you" part.

And I need to insert a "putting our vows in a box" ceremony somewhere after we say our vows.

FWIW, I definitely recommend everyone review what their officiant / rabbi / priest / celebrant is going to say because the last wedding I went to the officiant basically talked about divorce half the time. Like basically scolding anyone who was divorced. Oh yeah, did I mention that it was the groom's third marriage? LOL

My FI's cousin is officiating.  I think it'll be a co-op effort between us and him.  I have certain elements that I have already planned, like my sisters singing a song instead of the Love is Patient, Love is Kind reading, and they will be singing during the unity ceremony.  And, a bunch of my high school orchestra friends are doing a string quartet for us. 
FI wants to have his sister read a poem as one reading.  he's still deciding which piece he wants.
But, I think we will have his cousin do the standard vows for us....I don't think I could write any, and get through them without having a breakdown.
