Help me choose my photographer!

They're both the same pricing and packages. So I'm really just looking for opinions on the actual work in the portfolios. What do you think? I'm gonna have to decide and book in a few weeks when my tuition refund check arrives.

I actually think they are kind of similar, but I think I like Ellen a little more.

I like Charles more because I think the photos look more polished and I like his use of light better than Ellen. I thought some of her pictures didn't have enough contrast (?) and so it was hard for me to see things I would have wanted to see (like the picture with the bride looking out the window and the light hit her face except for a portion that remained dark). Maybe it was meant to look like that, though?

I agree that Charles' are much more polished and all of Ellen's look flat.
Hands down- Charles.

I like Charles better! As everyone else said, his pictures are better in the lighting area.

I'm picky about photogs b/c of my past work, so take this with a grain of salt if you're not a fan.
1.) Can I vote against Charles based solely on the fact that he uses copyrighted music without providing song credit and that is in direct violation of federal copyright laws?
2.) Ellen's photos are technically better. Her lighting is better and more event. Charles has a LOT of shadows from flash, etc, which isn't favorable when you are looking at photography from a technical aspect.  His indoor photos are blown out and shadowy. His outdoor photos are underexposed and cool in color.
3.) I like that in Ellen's portfolio she has some really creative photos (That couple on the ski lift? OMGoodness, so cute!) whereas all of Charles' photos look very 'stock'.

Also, she seems to have a more photojournalistic style which I adore.

I'd go with Ellen, hands down.

I voted for Ellen and here's why. Photographer's naturally have challenges when it comes to poor lighting situations. whether its a bright light coming through a window or a dark reception. And though I like Charles's style and composition, what I kept seeing was white spots / areas from flash, shadows and imbalanced lighting overall. This also shows that he doesn't know how to edit photos after he's shot them.

I voted for Ellen.
