NWR--worried about furbaby

Thursday night we gave one of our cats some turkey, a few hours later he was throwing it back up.  We just figured he'd eaten it too quickly and it didn't sit well.

He seemed ok yesterday but today he definitely became more ill and seemed lethargic when we got home from dinner.   We were worried about him being dehydrated since he had gotten sick so many times so we made the decision to bring him in to the emergency vet.

They admitted him and said he was pretty dehydrated so they would keep him overnight and monitor him.  They're not really sure what is wrong, so they are running his bloodwork and x-rays.

We should hear something tomorrow morning, hopefully it is positive news on his progress!!  Please send some prayers my way ladies!!!

Aww, I'm sorry! That would make me nervous. That happened to our Graycie when I first got her. She was vomiting and had the runs. It was what she ate, but I was scared and took her to the vet. They gave her her shots since she had never been to the vet and some tummy meds. She wasn't feeling well, but she cuddled with mommy all day which I think helped. Yes..I'm the crazy cat lady who called in sick because my baby was sick. I'm not ashamed.

Sorry to hear about your kitty! We had a health scare a while back. One of our cats just started throwing up constantly for about half an hour. he was playing outside so FI wasnt sure what happened When we got to the vet, he was very dehydrated and the vet thought he might have had an allergic reaction to a bee sting or bite. He was pretty loopy the day after due to the sedatives but he was himself shortly after. T&P!

Just called the hospital, they said he was pretty dehydrated so he got an iv of fluids and an anti-nausea medicine.  He didn't get sick overnight and they said he definitely ate a small amount of food.  Our doctor gets in at 2, so we should get some info from her then.  We're going in to visit him now :)

Definitely thinking the turkey was the culprit though as my other cat did not eat it and he is completely fine.  FI was also nauseous Friday and vomited yesterday (during our e-shoot).  Needless to say the turkey is in the trash!!

Exactly! I told FI when we have kids I want to announce it by putting Graycie in a onesie or shirt that says, "I'm gonna be a big sister!" FI just rolled his eyes. He loves her....but not as much as I do.

Thoughts and prayers for you cat! I just went through 2 weeks of being worried sick & crying over my cat (who isn't 100% out of the woods yet!), so I completely understand the worries.

I hope he is feeling better & is on the mend!

Glad to hear your cat's getting better :-)

I'd totally call in to work if my dog were sick, she's basically my child too! We want to make a little doggy shirt for her to wear the day of our wedding that says something to the effect of 'my humans are getting married!'
