The ring drama continues!

So as you all might remember I have been without my engagement ring for 3 months due to a cracked stone. I finally got it back last night and was super excitd.
I wore it to dinner with my family,  then took it off because I went to the gym and then slept so I didn't want to risk anything chipping it again. I woke up this morning and put all my jewelry on before heading to work. As I was driving I noticed the same stone that had just been replaced was MISSING.

Really I wore it for maybe 3 hours last night and it already fell out. So I called corporate and they are offering me an even exchange of my ring to replace it. I am so mad, I really like my ring but I guess going with a different ring that has a solitaire diamond in top will be the better option. Sucks because I really do love it.

So FI and I are going shopping for a new ring this weekend. UGH any suggestions?

  • I love tacori and the cathedralset design they offer allows for less snagging on things

That's awful!  I would cry my eyes out if anything happened to my ring, let alone losing a stone twice.

What does/did your ring look like?

ETA: I didn't mean for that to sound like YOU lost the stone!  Clearly, it's not your fault, I meant if the stone fell out/went missing.

  • OMG that's terrible!  I'd be hysterical!!!  You should be getting something more than an even exchange for all this ridiculousness!!

  • This is my current ring, the lady that I spoke with at corporate suggested to me that I get a solitaire stone instead of the little ones in the top. She had the same ring and had issues with it. Just discouraging.

I hope that the store has more then what they show online.

I did cry this morning when I noticed it this morning.

  • I'm so sorry that this had to happen to you. That's horrible. I love my ring and wouldn't know what I would do if this happened.

However, since this has already happened twice.. I would agree that getting a new ring would be the better option. A solitaire with a cathedral setting would probably be best. The cathedral setting helps so as to reduce snagging. I have one and I love it.

  • Ugh, what a pain! I'd probably have a nervous breakdown if that happened to me.

I love the jeweler my ring came from, their lifetime warranty includes just about everything and it was free. FI took my ring in a little over a month ago to be cleaned and they discovered that not only was my center diamond loose, but 2 of my side diamonds were loose too- loose enough to send my ring out and I was ringless for a week. They did it all for free.

Good luck on finding a new ring that you love just as much :-)

  • I will say, Tacori's bands are much more expensive than most other bands, but they do make a quality ring. Good luck, I'm sure any ring you choose will be gorgeous nonetheless.
  • I give you a lot of credit for not ripping someones head off in teh store. I am sure you will find a very perfect ring that will be just as beautiful if not even more then the one that has caused so many headaches for you. (((HUGS)))

Yea they covered everything for free as well, it just irritated me that the stone was cracked and then the same one they replaced went missing.
