Hey ya'll!
We are having a bit of a debate in our families about what time our service and our reception should start.
We are doing a Friday evening wedding with a reception to follow. The issue is at what times. Our church is in the city and our venue in the suburbs. In addition we do not want to do a first look (we'll, I should say HE doesn't want to do a first look).
I've been to 3 friday weddings and missed the ceremony because I had to work (i loooooooove the ceremony!) and just couldn't get there in time. By the reception I was starving.
What are your throughts? The wedding is May 10th so it's early in the year. I was thinking that we could do the ceremony at 6pm so we could still catch the light for pictures (hopefully) and the start the reception at 730 so we can eat at 8. Our ceremony is only about 20 minutes tops and it's only about a 20 minute drive to the venue with traffic. That leaves time for apps and drinks at the venue. I thought that in the churches side yard we could put a tent up and put light refreshments and veggies, dips, cheese, things along that nature out there. Is this weird? Is the timing off? The church is super small so we could do a less traditional receving line in the side yard... eh. I don't know.
