layered hair and updo

So...I hired someone other than my regular stylist to do my wedding hair because my wedding is out of state....Anyway, I got my hair done a week ago and my stylist asked me if I wanted to start growing my layers out for the wedding. I said no because I have had my hair one length many times and for some reason I look like I'm 12 when I don't have it layered. I'm confused though....is it hard to do wedding hair if you have layers? I am planning on doing an updo I think. My shortest layer is just above my shoulders. Anyone know if it is a prob?

I have layers and my stylist was able to fix my hair just fine. I know your stylist is out of state, but could you possibly do a trial run with her, or at least send her pics of your hair so she can get an idea of how your hair lays? Professionals should be able to do just about anything with any type of hair.
