How to place a veil with a french twist updo?!

I am planning on having a cathedral length veil, with alencon lace trim around the whole thing.  Because of the amount of lace it will probably be a heavy veil so I'll need a good strong anchor.  I really love the look of a french twist updo but I don't know how I would place my veil! On top, underneath?

Maybe I should do a true mantilla veil where the lace is literally all the way around and goes up and over my head instead of just haveing two ends meet at a clip/comb. this way maybe some of the weight would be distributed over my head?  I could then use a hidden comb and maybe some bobby pins on the sides too?

Re: How to place a veil with a french twist updo?!

  • I think it would look very pretty on top of the twist. If the veil has a comb attachment, I'd slide the comb on the top back part of the head just above the french twist, so that a tight hairdo would help hold it in place  : )
'Course, the mantilla idea also sounds pretty now that I picture it in my head....
