Wig vs Hair Stylist?

I am seriously thinking of purchasing a wig instead of getting my hair done.  I mean why should I worry about my hair falling apart or going limp just hours after it was done?

I would most likely stay with the color I have now - a medium mahogany brown.  My hair is currently on my shoulder but would consider something longer or shorter.

What do you think?  Did you do this?

I'm wearing a wig but that's because I have a disorder where I pull my hair out so I shave it. Only thing different I'll be doing is going with a human hair wig as opposed to synthetic for the wedding.

If my hair was long enough to be styled and look cute I'd wear it naturally because wigs get annoying, especially if you're getting married when it will be warm.
  • I feel like it'd be itchy and annoying. If you dont have to, I wouldnt.

  • if you use a wig which really is a great idea for some, make sure to use human hair so you can apply heat and products to it.
  • Ok, I will say only this  . . . . .don't knock a wig unless you've tried one.  I started wearing one for a medical condition but now I wear it because it always looks great.  I've been wearing if for about 2 years and I can honestly say I get more compliments and questions about where I get my hair color done than I ever have with "real" hair.

I'd recommend a synthetic hair wig (human hair is WAY too expensive for limited use)
Make sure to look for one that has a Monofilament top (that way it looks like a natural part in your hair) and if you find one that is also a Lace Front then you can brush the bangs off your face without looking like a fake hairline.

Try Wigs.com for some great ideas on styles & colors, but buy from Wigsalon.com (cheaper and better exchange/return policy)   Stick with either a Raquel Welch or Noriko / Renee of Paris manufacturer.  Raquel has great long styles that are marketed to be able to work with a partial updo.

OK so I guess you can tell I'm a wig fan.  I'll be wearing one for my wedding day.  Good Luck
