Chignon with short hair?

I'm thinking of having my BMs get their hair done in matching chignons, but one of my girls has short shoulder length hair. Do you think a hair stylist would be able to do that hairstyle on such a short cut?

    if all her hair can be put in a ponytail there might be a chance that it could work... if it can't even be up in a pony then theres no way.
