My shower was yesterday and it was AMAZING!
I woke up at 7am because I was so excited, I got to the shower location at 11:15 (guests were arriving at 11.) I texted my BMs to let them know that I was there and they all greeted me (my mom was there too) in the hallway and walked into the room with me, which was great because I was a little nervous about walking in alone!
There were so many people there (about 50) and we had a buffet brunch with SO many yummy things I was stuffed after we ate! But I had lots of gifts to open so I got up on a little platform stage, and I started opening gifts. I was surrounded by my bridesmaids who each had their own "job" (writing down who gave what, collecting the paper, passing me presents etc.)
At first, I was really nervous, but after the first few gifts, I started getting more relaxed. After most of the gifts had been opened, FI came in the door! Everyone was very excited to see him, and he helped me finish opening the rest of the gifts.
Some of the fun things the BMs did for me was that they send a note along with the invitations asking them to bring one of their favorite recipes on a card that the BMs provided and bring it to the shower, so I now have about 40 new recipes to try! Also, they had everyone write down a piece of advice for FI and I and then stuck them in a glass bottle, we're going to open them all and ready the advice on our 1 yr anniversay
We got some great gifts. Most were from the registry, but we also got some great non-registry stuff too!
