bridal shower-panty gifts

i'm planning my BFF's bridal shower for august. it is not going to be a lingerie theme, instead we are going to ask guests to bring a pair of panties for her (i'll either display them on a clothes line, or in a basket to give to her). but just panties, not bra's, teddies, or anything else like that. anyways, i was looking to find some wording to put on an insert with her shower invite. i've done some googling, and found some things i could probably alter a bit to use, but i thought there was a knottie on here that had this done for her at her shower.....collleen maybe? if you're lurking, would you care to pop out and share the wording your BM's used when asking the guests to bring a pair of panties please?

or if anyone else has seen this done, do you recall the wording?

I can't help on the wording, but am curious - why panties only?  Is it due to the audience?  I'm sure there are reasons for this - but depending on the amount of people coming, the B2B will probably get the same white/blue panties that say "I Do" or "Mrs." on them - there aren't too many different types to pick from.

I went to a lingerie shower this weekend that specified "Groom prefers black lingerie" on the invite (so everyone brought black underthings) - can you tailor it to be "Lingerie Shower - bring the bride-to-be panties"?

um, why is that alll that she would get?

maybe i should have mentioned that THAT is why i am looking for some specific wording.

i suppose i also should have mentioned that within the wording it will note that the panties are for her honeymoon.

and panties because i feel like it. because there were a few girls that had this done for them at their showers, and they enjoyed it. it's the same as asking everyong to fill ou the recipe card and put it in a box for the bride.

Someone on the July 2010 board just had a shower where they gave her a bunch of panties that went along with a panty poem.  I don't know that it will help with the invite wording, but it sounded like fun.

As for how to word the invite, maybe something like "Please bring a pair of panties for [the bride] so she can wow [the groom] on their honeymoon and beyond!"

Yes! I remember that girl that had the panty tree. I went to a shower that had one and it was pretty funny. I received the game instructions with the shower invitation. You could just print them up on cardstock.

Um, it wasn't me.  Sorry.  And given the audience of much older women at my shower, I think I would have been mortified.  But that's just me and my DH's conservative family.

However, at my bachelorette party, my girlfriends all gave me an array of lingerie, including but not limited to panties.  I don't know how my BM worded it--she and the other girls had many emai conversations I was not privy to and did not do formal invitations.

That is a cute poem! The girl that had the panty tree was from the Cranberry area and wasn't on very long. She was the one that said something about her FFIL not wanting to rent shoes from the tux shop. Haha, that's how I remember her.
