Are you having menu's printed (or making them) for the reception?

I'm debating. If I do it, I'll try to find a template or something to print them myself. But wondering if I need to. what are you ladies doing?

  • I really don't feel like it's necessary.  If I have time (and $) I might do them, but if not, no big deal. :)

  • I considered doing them, but I don't really feel like taking another DIY project on!

I don't think you "need" to do them. I figured if someone doesn't know what something is, they can ask the server, but most of our food is identifiable so people shouldn't really have questions.

I'm wondering what other people will say though, maybe they are a good thing to have and if I find a valid reason why I should do them, I'll just suck it up and get back on the DIY train!

I'm for sure labeling the food on the buffet- But I'm not going to stress about making menus. If I have time to get to it I think they would be a nice touch, but it's not something I'm going to worry about.

If we make it back to Ikea, I might just get some Tolsby frames and have one menu/ table.

  • Cool - I'm not going to stress it then. thank ladies :)

This! I'm not making them because most of our food is simple and easy to figure out what it is. And if by chance they have any questions they can ask a server. Plus ours will be set up like a buffett so it's easy for them to skip over if they don't know what it is or think it is something they won't eat.
  • We are labeling the food on the buffet table, but not making menu cards.

  • I'm going to have one menu per table - I bought these ornate frames at Kohl's for 80% off since they were technically Christmas items (not sure how, since they were just silver frames and some with rhinestones on them) and I'm just going to print the menu on regular paper at home.  Since the frames are kind of ornate, I wanted something simple.  I designed it in Word.  Here's a screenshot of it - let me know if you want it and I can send you the template, or anyone else for that matter =]

  • We might do One menu per table, but we'll see closer to the date if we still  want to do that

  • I'm having our invitation designer design our menu cards (as well as ceremony program) because I'm a bit obsessed with having everything match. Then she's sending me the file and we'll print them at a copy shop.

  • I am having them.  I was on the fence, but my friend offered to make them for me.  I do think it'll be a nice touch!
