Rehearsal....

My officiant is going to be out of town the week before our wedding and will not be able to make it to the rehearsal I have scheduled. The majority of my bridal party will be there but I am only worried because he hasn't performed a wedding at our venue before. He asked if we can move it up to Thursday May 17th.. ( wedding is on the 27th), but I feel like 10 days before is way too much...

Could you meet him there on the 17th and just take notes/walk him around the venue?

I would just do it on the 17th when he's there. I think 10 days before the wedding is way less stressful and hectic than the day before! That being said...I wish I could cancel the rehearsal & dinner and do all the stupid little errands I have to do the night before the wedding! lol

i know lots of people who did there's after 10 days because they said they didn't want anyone to forget anything being that far out. we are doing ours a few days before!!!

I guess I feel like the officiant always runs the rehearsal and how everything flows with the ceremony, so I'd try to do it with him there if everyone in the wedding lives close by.  Then maybe talk through the ceremony the day of, just give people reminders?

This is what I would do. I think 10 days before is way to early. I would forget things if it were for my wedding plus the BM and GM are more than likely going to forget things.

I would rather have it with the officiant, even if it's 10 days before.... If not everyone can make it then, I suggest you and FI (and maybe MOH/BM if they're available and want to come) go with the officiant when he's available and go through it just you guys, THEN, when you originally have it planned, you're on the same page as your officiant as to what to instruct people to do.

If your WP is available on that day then either do it early or just go with and take some notes.
