The sad news is, I found out friday evening that my Aunt died that morning sometime. She wasn't married at the time and never had any children. Her friends went to her home firday morning and found her laying at the bottom of the stairs in her pajamas with a head wound. We don't know if she died due to the fall or if something else happened (like a heart attack or something) and then she fell. They're going to perform an autopsy to try and figure out what happened.
In other not so somber news, FI and I went to his cousin's wedding on saturday. We drove about 6 hours to get there yesterday morning and 6 hours back today. I am pooped. The ceremony was cute. It was held in a theatre on the Virignia Tech campus (their first date and proposal were also done there) so it was very fitting. The guests all sat in the seats and they were married on stage. They had a whole "movie theme" to go with it. All of their ceremony songs were from well known movies.
The reception was ok...held in a rented banquet room. Plain white table cloths with centerpieces made up of plasitic red and white striped popcorn buckets topped with a silver tray and classic coke glasses filled with a specific type of candy. The favors were original glass coke bottles with a movie stub attached with our names on one side and a type of candy on the other. It took people a while to figure out that the candy on the ticket was the table you were supposed to sit at.
The bride and her family did all the food themselves and most of it was just OK. sandwiches, cocktail weenies, room temp shrimp, taquito type things, veggie and cheese trays, chips, crab cake balls, salad...nothing was outstanding. The brides mom was very overwhelmed all evening and told us this morning she was there until 1am cleaning everything up. There was very little dancing and lots of people left really early.
I am so afraid that our wedding will be as boring as this one was!! I don't want people to feel like we felt at this one.....this is probably my biggest wedding fear!!
