BM's Dress is Too Small

Hey ladies,

We're 10 days out (YAY!!) and my BM just texted me to say that her dress is too small. She tried on a size 6 at DB, it was snug, but she said she was going to lose weight to fit into it. We suggested she take an 8 just in case, but she ordered the 6 anyway. She can hardly do it up and she can't sit in it. It's not the end of the world because it still does up, but it's lousy for her because she might be uncomfortable.

I'm surprisingly calm, mostly because I know there's nothing I can do about it. I'll probably tell her she can bring herself another dress to wear to the reception so she can sit and eat and enjoy.

GAH I'm so excited, I've been telling people "we're getting married next week" and I can hardly believe it!!

  • Tell her to try colonics! I did a week of constant cleansing and lost 5 pounds! You can do it at home using over-the-counter laxatives, so it's not even all that expensive!

Super bad and completely unhealthy. I would not take this advice. Sorry. I wouldn't be concerned with her dress. It's her own fault for ordering something too small to begin with. Can she find something off the rack in the same color?

That sounds dangerous, I would never ask my friend to take medication or supplements or anything like for a wedding. Thanks though.

Like I said, she can stand it in so she'll be fine for the ceremony. I'll tell her to get something similar (or not even) for the reception!

ETA: Vineyard, looks like you're spot on with what I said. lol
  • This might add more inches than just going w/out something underneath, but what about some sort of super duty spanx?

Not a good idea, laxative and colonics mess up your potassium and calcium levels and will dehydrate you, cause elevated heart heart rate and make you pass out.

I would see if they can't put a corset back in the dress to give her some more room.

  • I think it will be okay. It fits right? If she is uncomfortable that's her own fault. She shouldn't try some fad diet to lose the weight either...
